Word Nerd
What are your favorite Shakespeare adaptations—either movies or stage productions that are available on video? We've seen a lot of them, but I'd like to watch and rewatch some of them this summer.

theYoungerMrsWarde
I think the BBC did a series of Shakespeare's plays. I really liked Merry Wives of Winsor.
kricau
Oh my gosh :) we LOVED Gnomio & Juliet. It was so cute, and they used a couple of the original lines (though I would have liked more). I just watched Much Ado About Nothing on Netflix the other day. It had that british actress that I love...what' her name? oh yeah, Emma Thompson. Word Nerd
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil I read the book and saw the movie but didn't know it had any connection to Shakespeare.

Melinda in VT
Not exactly a Shakespeare adaptation and not a movie but I can't pass up an opportunity to plug Slings & Arrows, a Canadian TV show about a Shakespeare company. Simply the best TV show ever written. Season 1 centers on Hamlet, season 2 on Macbeth, and season 3 on Lear. Not for kids. Must be able to tolerate strong language. Is the Tennant one available on video? I knew he made one but haven't seen it anywhere on Netflix, Amazon Instant, etc.
