RainbowSprinkles
What's on yours? What do you hope to do this summer? It can be anything. School related, personal stuff like weight loss, eating better..., or places you'd like to go as a family. Anything. So what 's on yours? I'm planning to put together ours on a posterboard with checkmark boxes this weekend.
Jennifer in MI
WAY too much to finish - 1. Fix back porch (we hired someone) 2. Wash and stain back porch (ourselves) 3. Get fence fixed (hired someone) 4. Get swingset fixed (hired someone) 5. Plant another tree in back yard (us) 6. Plant garden (us) 7. Re-do front porch (us) 8. Get built-ins put in in family room(being done today!) 9. Get a runner for the steps (I can't decide if I should try this myself) 10. Crown molding for my bedroom (me) 11. Redo my closet and get rid of dresser (me) 12. Redo dd's closet and get rid of dresser (me) 13. Redo guest bedroom closet (me) 14. Plant flowers in front (me) 15. Power wash house/driveway/sidewalks (me) 16. Dig up part of yard that was taken over by creeping charlie and re-seed (me) I think that's it. Oh - I should also mention that I'm refusing to use chemicals on my lawn, so I need to weed daily. Ugh. wintermom
So, by "bucket list" does this mean, "the coolest, out-of-the-ordinary" things we hope to do, or just the "to-do list" things we know we should do but don't necessarily want to do? Cool, out of ordinary stuff: - Train up for my first marathon - Learn to play the snare drum with my ds - Help the dc train up to do their first 5km run - Research writing a children's book about David Thompson Summer to-do list: - Clean up the basement, the master bedroom - Help the kids clean up their bedrooms Edited June 3, 2012 by tmoan

swellmomma
Wanted to bring this thread back alive. I was over at homeschool share and they have a wonderful bucket list for the kids. Now I know on this board we can really make an awesome bucket list for this summer. Right?:D That;s what I was doing last night! That exact one. I don't have 25 things on it yet. I put my ideas on it and today we are going to discuss it and the kids will give me the ideas to finish filling it out. What we have so far: 1. make glow in the dark sidewalk chalk and use it (I bought a crayola kit) 2. Make sun prints (from a kit as well) 3. Go berry picking and make jam 4. Go camping 5. Go to the fair 6. Grow a vegetable garden 7. Go swimming 8. Go star gazing 9. Go pond dipping 10. Go fishing 11. Watch a parade 12. Visit a museum 13. Visit a zoo 14. Go to the Ukranian Heritage Village ( a place we have discussed going for 3 years now) from #15-25 the kids can to come up ideas My to do list for household projects is much longer but I want my summer to be focused on family activities not to do lists. wintermom
I just went to that website linked, and there were some much more fun things suggested than I had origially listed. I like the simplicity of the activities, and having the dc involved in making the list would be that much more interesting. Thanks for providing the link and keeping this thread going!
