I'm just curious - do you finish your entire book during the course of the year?

 

We're on Lesson 98, and I need to decide whether to zip through the rest, or just carry it over for a while.

We did, but we skipped some of the writing assignments.

We used R&S 2 and didn't finish. We did finish 3. Skipped the friendly letter type stuff and the poetry stuff.

We often skip the telephone lessons, as well as introduction lessons (as in, Mother this is so and so, so and so this is Mother) as well as a few other lessons that often fall in the last chapter. Anything that seems unnecessary is skipped. I'd say we cut out at least 10 lessons.

Maybe we'll start doing some of it orally so we can double up on lessons.

We always finish the book, but it's starting to take longer than a year. My son is almost done with level 6, but it's going on two years that we've been working through it.

We finish. We, too, skip the writing, telephone, letter-writing, and poetry lessons. We also skip those few lessons correcting what's probably regional speech that my kids don't use or hear. ("Ain't" or "that there tree.")

We do part of the book orally and part of it written. We also skip the poetry, rhyming sections and dictionary sections. We use a dictionary daily.

the That there tree lesson really cracked my kids up. They had never in their whole lives heard anyone speak in such a way.

 

We finished, we skipped all poetry, but did the rest.

We finished all but the last 5 lessons of level 2. We had already done synonyms, antonyms, and the other few things at the end in a different workbook. We skip some reviews as well. I can see that we should finish 3&4 in one year, but I do plan to take two years for level 5.

We skip those as well. My ears start to bleed when I try to read the wrong examples out loud. *shudder*
