Can I salvage flopped bread dough?

Recommended Posts

Welp, it hasn't risen much so it will be a brick.

Is there anything I can do with it besides throw it away?

Instead of mixing up good ingredients into something that is doubtful, I'd start over. Was the flour old or too much wheat/rye and not enough gluten?

No, I know what the problem is. I tried a new recipe and I knew something was off but tried it anyway. Silly me.

So I guess to the garbage we go?

What do you think was wrong with the recipe? Post the recipe! I've rescued a lot of doughs, including one bread that was so heavenly and I know we'll never have it again. :) :) :) One bad dough, I added a bunch of water, added several more cups of flour, threw in some yeast and waited until it rose. YUM.
