athena1277
We were invited to a cookout next weekend and asked to bring a side. The hosts will be providing hotdogs and marshmallows. I want to bring something my family will eat so no baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad, or hummus. I thought fruit would be good, but it can be pricey. Oh, and gluten-free so dd can eat it. Yes, feeding my family is a pain in the rear.:glare: So what can I bring?
nono
Do they eat green beans? A cold green bean salad would be nice!
SJ.
Some type of quinoa salad? ETA: Woohoo hit 50 posts and am no longer a larvae!
StephanieZ
Salad(s). Definitely cold veggie salads of whatever sorts you like best. Simple green salad or a snazzier veggie salad. Or fruit salad.
kewb
Some ideas: Quinoa Salad Black Bean Salsa Asian Cole Slaw (it does not involve mayo so maybe your family will like it) Guacamole Cheese and Rice Crackers Rice Salad

We took apples and caramel dip to a recent potluck. Huge hit!
Susan in TN
Potato or other gluten free chips. And veggie or fruit salad.
Farrar
It's not in season, but I think of corn on the cob as a nice, cheap cookout side.
Laurie4b
Are other people also coming so that several sides will be brought? If not, I would bring something that traditionally goes with hot dogs, even if it's baked beans and your family won't eat them . They are not expensive. A pp's suggestion of corn on the cob would be good. Bring butter, too. A fruit salad would also be nice. If others are bringing sides, the traditional ones that go with hot dogs will probably be brought and you can just bring what you want to.
