Julie in CA
Anyone think I'm going to die from a double dose? Blood-pressure med: Losartan-HCTZ 12.5 mg. Cholesterol-lowering med: Zocor 20 mg. I'll leave aside (for now) the question of whether I should be taking this stuff at all. :glare:
RoughCollie
I reckon you'll be fine. I take twice that dose of high blood pressure medication, and I don't have that malady. I take twice that dose of Lipitor, and I don't have high cholesterol.
angela in ohio
I took double blood pressure meds one night. I take two ibuprofen, so when I opened the bottle, I just put two in my hand and tossed them back. I called poison control and my doctor's on-call service in a panic. :D I was fine, but I was in a tizzy for the next 24 hours.

RoughCollie
:grouphug: You can call your doctor; it might make you feel better. Or you can call your pharmacist. They know about drugs.
Julie in CA
:grouphug: You can call your doctor; it might make you feel better. I'm 99.9999% sure it's fine in terms of my health. I'm also 99.99999% annoyed with myself. ;)
Julie in CA
Or you can call your pharmacist. They know about drugs. I thought of that, but it's early still, and the pharmacy won't be open for a while.
Scarymelon
Those are both low doses of the medication, so twice as much once shouldn't cause any problem. If you feel fine, I wouldn't worry at all.
sbgrace
That doesn't sound concerning to me. FWIW, though, poison control isn't just for kid questions. They won't bat an eye if you call for yourself.
Maus
If you still have the insert, it may tell you what to do. Otherwise, the pharmacist can tell you. I doubt you are in any danger, other than maybe a headache or dizziness for the next 24 hours. My question would be whether or not to skip tomorrow's dose, or just to stay on schedule. kleahey
As a pharmacy tech, I see people take much higher doses of those medications. If you're dizzy or have any changes in vision (or generally if you're just worried about it), call your doctor or a nurse help line.
