robsiew
from an Amazon seller would you expect writing in it? I ordered a workbook because it was listed in "very good" condition assuming it wouldn't have writing in it. :glare: It has several pages written in. Sophia
No, that is not vgc in my book. Imo, the writing should have been disclosed.
Desert Rat
Not 'very good', no. Very good would have no writing and very little cover wear. It would be almost new.
JudoMom
It shouldn't have any writing according to Amazon's website: New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unread copy in perfect condition. Like New: An apparently unread copy in perfect condition. Dust cover is intact, with no nicks or tears. Spine has no signs of creasing. Pages are clean and are not marred by notes or folds of any kind. Book may contain a remainder mark on an outside edge but this should be noted in listing comments. Very Good: A copy that has been read, but remains in excellent condition. Pages are intact and are not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged. Good: A copy that has been read, but remains in clean condition. All pages are intact, and the cover is intact (including dust cover, if applicable). The spine may show signs of wear. Pages can include limited notes and highlighting, and the copy can include "From the library of" labels. Acceptable: A readable copy. All pages are intact, and the cover is intact (the dust cover may be missing). Pages can include considerable notes--in pen or highlighter--but the notes cannot obscure the text. Unacceptable: Moldy, badly stained, or unclean copies are not acceptable, nor are copies with missing pages or obscured text. Books that are distributed for promotional use only are prohibited. This includes advance reading copies (ARCs) and uncorrected proof copies. The seller should refund your money.
Ann@thebeach
I agree with above and the amazon rules clearly state that it should not have writing so you have "proof" on your side. However, I ALWAYS ask now about writing in books because I've gotten so many with writing in them.
NanceXToo
I agree with the others, I would DEFINITELY expect a book in "very good condition" to have no writing in it!
jec3113
It has been my experience with Amazon sellers that if you are not happy they will happily refund all your money even shipping. Email the seller and explain your unhappiness. If they do not refund, then you write a negative review stating such. This is the last thing they want. KidsHappen
No I would not. Amazon actually has guidlines for condition ratings and any book with writing in it can only be listed as acceptable. Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=1161242 . Contact the seller and let her know that she has listed the book incorrectly, send the amazon link and ask for a refund. If she does not make it right, contact Amazon. Unfortunately many sellers do not consult the guidlines and rate the book based on their personal opinions. :glare:
Hedgehog
from an Amazon seller would you expect writing in it? I ordered a workbook because it was listed in "very good" condition assuming it wouldn't have writing in it. :glare: It has several pages written in. That's ridiculous. Sounds like it only just about merits being "Acceptable"!
