HRAAB
I love my Excalibur dehydrator. I also have an older American Harvester. It works well, but it is not nearly as fast or has the capacity of the Excalibur.
susankenny
Excalibur. It's the best brand, especially if you eat raw foods, etc. If you don't need it to that extent, then Nesco is a good brand. Susan
Peela
Excalibur is I have heard the best, and i have one. But itis also not cheap. I used to have a circular one and it was pretty useless compared to what i can do in my Excalibur.
Jules
I love my Excalibur also. So far, looks like thats the concensus. I would recommend getting the fruit leather sheets with it, if you decide to go that way. They are wonderful for making homemade fruit roll ups. Yes, it is expensive, but does a huge load at once and even drying on all the trays.
prairiewindmomma
excalibur is the best. I have a cheapie Nesco. It's ok for occasional use but for heavy duty stuff, I'd go excalibur. My friends all love theirs.
Melinda S in TX
Another vote for the Excalibur. Blessings, Melinda
Jane Elliot
Excalibur. www.pleasanthillgrain.com is a good place to buy. (I am in no way connected with that company and I don't know anyone who is connected with it. I am just a satisfied customer.)

lmkzbcb
This may be a silly question, but do dehydrators work on electricity only? Or do they need electricity at all?
Hen
here's a silly question, would you use a dehydrator to make banana chips? My ds really loves them and I'd like to make them at home.
Endorphins
On Youtube, there's a woman who makes AWESOME dehydrating videos. Her channel name is Dehydrate2Store. She's not selling anything, but just loves teaching people about food storage. You can definitely make banana chips and they're SOOO much better made at home. :)
Endorphins
Mine is electric. You can sun dry stuff, if that interests you!
