Guest Anita in PA
Hi! I'm not on the board that often, but I've been around for years, mostly on the high school board. This January, I decided to begin slowly working toward finishing the bachelor's degree I abandoned when pregnant with our second child. I had a sudden realization that in 5 or 6 years, I'll be out of the homeschooling business and would be *so* much more employable if I finished my degree. So here I am, homeschooling 3 kids and taking a college course in statistics. For the class's final project, I have to do a survey on something I'm interested in and do a bunch of different statistical stuff with the numbers I collect. I chose to sample homeschoolers about their school days. Would you be willing to answer a few questions for my survey? Your names would never be used with the information in any way; all I need is data to work with. You would answer these 8 questions for each child you are homeschooling: 1. Age of child 2. Grade (K-12) 3. How many hours does the child spend on school work each day, on average? (don't count lunch or play time) 4. What time does the child start and end school each day, usually? 5. How many hours does the child spend on math each day? 6. How many subjects is the child studying? (Count subjects that require at least 1/2 hour per day on average) 7. On a scale from 1-10 (with 1 being the lowest) how focused is the child during school time? 8. On a scale from 1-10 (with 1 being the lowest) how comfortable (quiet, well-lit, sufficient space, etc.) is the child's study space? Thanks so much for your help! And if you are uncomfortable answering in public, please feel free to email your answers to me at anita.szymanski@gmail.com. Anita
