NanceXToo
I don't know (I'm far from being any sort of culinary expert lol), but my kids love when I give them wooden dowels and then give them strawberries, marshmallows and blueberries so they can make their own red, white and blue dessert skewers. Julie in CA
I want to do something different, any ideas? I'm not sure what "different" means to you. :) We're just doing root beer floats, 'cause everyone likes those, and they're easy.
momofkhm
It called for angel food cake, but I couldn't find a mix at the store so we bought a white cake. Then you mix instant vanilla pudding with 16 cool whip. Layer broken cake pieces, blueberry pie filling, pudding/cool whip, more cake pieces, strawberry pie filling, pudding/cool whip. Then optionally top with fresh blueberries and strawberries. It was very good!
HRAAB
Anything other than watermelon, and the entire family would revolt. We usually have cookies and cherry pies (cherries are ripe now), but watermelon is The Dessert.
Cricket
One year my sil and I hosted a party for a bunch of college friends. We bought a clean piece of gutter and lined it with foil. Then we made a gigantic banana split. Everyone helped and thought it was very cool! Or there is always strawberry pie!
Diane in CO
I always enjoy lemon icebox pie or something else citrusy as it always tastes so light and cool. Diane

Mejane
We're having an ice cream cake with r/w/b sprinkles on it. The kids are thrilled. :)
