What are your top FIVE books for SOTW 2?

I need to limit my read aloud list, which is spiralling out of control. We'll be doing SOTW 2 next year, so I want YOUR top FIVE picks for great read-alouds to go along with it. This will be for a 4th grader and 2nd grader.

Also, I'll take your suggestions for supplemental books my rising 4th grader could read on his own. He reads at a junior high level, though I prefer age appropriate content.

Thanks!

We've enjoyed:

Augustine Came to Kent (Willard)

Son of Charlegmagne (Willard)

The Midwife's Apprentice (Cushman)

Otto of the Silverhand (Pyle)

The Apple and the Arrow (Buff)

What a Viking (Manning)

Minstrel in the Tower (Skurzynski)

Across a Dark and Wild Sea

Castle Diary

Medieval Feast (Aliki)

Some of these are picture books we read. We're just starting "The Door in the Wall". We also have "Fire Bed and Bone" and "the Whipping Boy" coming up but we haven't read these yet.
