Dina in Oklahoma Posted March 14, 2010 Share Posted March 14, 2010 Hi All! This just in . . . Hi Dina -- Just a quick but excellent update. Taryn is home. She still has a low grade fever (100.4) and has some chest pain and trouble breathing, and she's still on the most recent antibiotic; however she's home. The doctor told them her immune system has been so compromised that now that she is stable, it is probably wiser for her to recover at home rather than risk getting an infection/germ at the hospital. They will monitor her closely, and if her temp rises or her breathing worsens, she'll immediately go back up to Children's. They said she lost 7 pounds (more than 10% of her body weight) during this whole ordeal. THANK YOU for your prayers and PLEASE keep her in prayer until that child is completely well! My friend's daughter went through what sounds like a similar illness many, many years ago. Some kind of pneumonia that didn't respond to anything.
