kewb
We will be making a 4.5 hour drive to DC next week and I need some new ideas for audio books that both my 9 year old daughter and 11 year old son will enjoy. We have already done the entire Sisters Grimm series (and we are anxiously awaiting the next one in the series) and the Rats of NIHM. Hive, hit me with your best recommendations. Mrs Mungo
We really like the audio books from Brian Jacques, there is the Redwall series and the Flying Dutchman series. I prefer the Flying Dutchman series, but he is a great storyteller, either way. :)

VA6336
The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall was a fun one. There were children older than mine listening, too.
aggieamy
Narnia and Spiderwick Chronicles are two that my family has enjoyed in the last year. Most of the others would be too young for your "big kids". :001_smile:
Debbi in Texas
My son could listen to Hank the Cowdog for the entire trip. (Adults like it, too!) Debbi

Sara R
:iagree: The series can be enjoyed out of order too. We listened to 2nd book on a 10 hour drive and it kept the whole family riveted. We also love the Sisters Grimm. I'll give a third vote for Peter and the Starcatchers! Jim Dale reads it. I love listening to his audiobooks. Of course audio Harry Potter is terrific as well.
