Ibbygirl
Thank you!! I'm always looking for a better play dough recipe. :) Can't wait to try it. :) The Koolaid colors it, no?? How many colors does Koolaid come in? Edited September 11, 2009 by Ibbygirl
Mommy7
Yes, the Kool-Aid colors it. We made Cherry this morning. So, they are happily playing with reddish play dough. (Gotta love that "happily" playing part!)

LadyAberlin
I wonder if my kids would try to eat it if it smelled like cherry:001_huh: I"m going to have to try it though.
Sue G in PA
Doesn't it stain their hands? I thought Kool-Aid stained. I'd love to try this...as long as it doesn't turn my kids hands (or my furniture) red, blue, green, etc.!
kesmom
How is the texture? Most homemade doughs leave a gritty feeling on my hands that drives me crazy. (I know it's for the kids haha, but they usually want me to help)
Mommy7
No, I do not add food coloring. The texture is really smooooooth. Not gritty at all. No, it does not turn their hands colors at all. It is wonderful, truly! ;)
starwarsmomma
might try this today -- we're all stuck at home (raining) Thanks!
novagirl
when I was a preschool teacher we made this recipe every two weeks. It DOES smell good!
jenL
This is what my son used at his preschool. It's great stuff!
sagira
Thanks! With a curious six-year-old, a feisty two-year-old, and bags of flour and boxes of salt, we could use some good playdough :)
MomofAJ
Thanks! This will good to try on a rainy day.
Mothersweets
This is a wonderful recipe! I've used it for years and my kids won't have anything to do with the regular playdoh - it stinks to them. :) It doesn't stain little hands and the texture is smooth and not gritty at all. Aletheia Academy
This looks like so much fun. Thank you for posting!
kesmom
Thanks for replying about the texture. We will try it very soon!
Chris in VA
I do nearly the same recipe, but add a little cream of tartar and cook on the stove. I knead in more oil with oiled hands--keeps it smooth. The Koolaid makes it so nice! Thanks for the reminder--even my 9 year old likes playdough. justamouse
Ohh I wish I had this two days ago! We just made 'tablets' to write in cuneiform on. *g* Mine came out smooth but sooo soft and squishy that it's sticking to everything no matter how much flour I add. Writing this one down now! ~Kirsten~
Awesome! Thanks! :001_smile: I, too, wondered about the staining issue (and the eating issue, but frankly, my youngest eats regular Play-Doh, so at least I'd know where this stuff's been).
