Pamela H in Texas
Are there secular programs for each level of Latin and Greek if you wanted to start at 6yrs old and work your way up?

BillieBoy
I started my dd with English from the Roots up, then Latin for Children primer a,b, and c then we will move on the Latin Alive then Wheelock's Latin. Though Latin for Children A has one or two quotes from the bible and one prayer for translation, I don't find it a problem.
hsmamainva
Minimus Latin is secular....and available at Rainbow Resource. I think you can also find samples online.
cylau
We are going to use Lively Latin next year. I am pretty sure it is secular.
nmoira
Yes for Latin. Here are a few off the top of my head, and I'm sure there are plenty more. Minimus Lively Latin Getting Started with Latin Latin's Not So Tough (secular until Level 5) Latin Prep and So You Really Want to Learn Latin Ecce Romani Cambridge Latin Oxford Latin Artes Latinae Latin for the New Millennium Wheelock's Lingua Latina
radiobrain
Minimus people... FYI.... The company allowed the minimus yahoo group (I am pretty sure that's what it is) to scan for download every page of the TM as it is priced outrageously high for non-classroom use. I thought that was pretty nice of them.
Pamela H in Texas
Thanks y'all! You're the best :D
Laura Corin
Last I heard this had been rescinded. There was a misunderstanding - the company thought it was a small, local home education group that was sharing, not a massive Yahoo group. I did hear that some other kind of deal was being worked out, but I don't know if that came through. Laura
Mama Lynx
This is correct. Permission was given for a particular online group for a particular year, but when that year was up there were no more such agreements.
TracyR
At age 6 I would start with Song School Latin by Classical Academic Press then follow through with their series, Latin for Children then Latin Alive. For Greek studies they are coming out with Song School Greek. I am hoping it is as good as SSL.

The only problem is, it's a big leap from SSL to LfC and a lot of people are having trouble bridging that gap. I'm going to start out with Minimus minus the TM and hope for the best. Lively Latin might be an option, depending on Becca.
