  1. One does not simply grow out of Lego. Just FYI, I'm imagining a LoTR meme to accompany that. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  2. I cheated and googled it. I have never heard that. I guess in South Texas we figure it's hopeless no matter what we do. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  3. We will be going to Six Flags on Friday for the tree lighting. We're currently trying to figure out the logistics. DH may be able to come, but would have to be back for work on Saturday morning. That's a lot of driving and a super late night. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  4. Here's what we are doing with our week off: Staying in jammies for most of it Reading Drinking hot chocolate Taking walks Going to the library (they are showing Finding Dory tomorrow) Working on my curriculum plan for next semester Cleaning out the car Take naps Actually taking the donation stuff to the drop off (finally) Buying Christmas presents Reading some more I might give myself a mani/pedi. Maybe haircuts..maybe not. Baking banana bread. I may or may not do any or all of these things this week. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  5. There's a locally owned boutique/coffee shop that sells them here. Maybe there's something like that in your area? Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  6. Do I have to feed them AGAIN? I already made breakfast. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  7. Good morning, ITT! I'm not really awake yet. Coffee! My dollar tree has red dishes. I know because I was looking at them a couple days ago. I don't need red dishes. I don't need red dishes...I might buy red dishes. They're only a dollar. DH isn't going to work today! I feel like I haven't seen him in weeks. He wanted to go fishing, but I think it's too cold to take the boys to the water today. We'll have to find something else to do. Anyway, I must needs to drink that coffee....
  8. Emily Cook has confirmed that BYL will be having a black Friday sale. I don't know the details yet.
  9. A Malcolm just climbed into my lap and fell asleep. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  10. This thread just made me realize how much I love my MIL. She never makes me feel bad about the way I run my house. At parties or gatherings, she always asks how she can help or busies herself with the kids so I can get things done. I never realized how much I appreciate that.. My mom might randomly decide to sweep y floor or wash my dishes. I don't love it, but I know her heart is in the right place. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  11. We spread out the decorating over the course of a week or so. On Thanksgiving night, Jarvis (our elf) decorates the dining room and sets out a North Pole breakfast. One night that week, we go pick out a tree and set it up, but don't decorate it yet. The next day, I put the lights on while DH is at work. When he gets home, we listen to Christmas music and drink hot cocoa and decorate the tree together. Throughout the rest of the week, I put everything else out little by little. For us, decorating is part of the fun of the season. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  12. It's day 2 of deep cleaning the entire house. I need to clean: The playroom The boys bathroom - done The boys bedrooms - done Dinner will be something easy, maybe spaghetti with garlic bread. It's the first cold day of the year so hot chocolate may be in order. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  13. GIMP is free and can do just about anything Photoshop can. There is a bit of a learning curve, but YouTube videos can help. And it's fairly simple once you get the hang of it. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  14. Happy Birthday, Jean! Good morning. It's cold outside. I need coffee. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  15. It's fun to learn new things! Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  16. Welcome to the forum Mommagoosey! And congratulations on your new journey. I have a customized kindergarten kit from Timberdoodle that I am working through with DS5. Here are my thoughts on what we have: The reading lesson: solid instruction, but I do have a few pet peeves. There are incomplete sentences and no capitalization in the beginning. It just bugs me. Also, my son is still working on blending letters so he's not quite ready for it. We are using Progressive Phonics (free!) for a while, but may go back to it later. Spelling you see: My son's handwriting is not ready for this. We use the word lists and he spells with letter magnets. He does well with it that way. Messy science: We love it. It's just a small experiment or 2 each week (about 10-15 mins). Little red riding hood: Love, love this game. Math U See: very straightforward and mostly boring for my mathy kid. We are using MEP (also free! And awesome) while I decide what to do. Beginning Geography: great get-it-done workbook. Developing the early learner: pretty good, but we don't get to it as often as I'd like. Worksheets aren't really our thing. I think those are the main points, and this post is getting pretty long so I'll stop now. If you have any questions about anything else, please ask. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  17. I love them too; they are a very underrated punctuation mark. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  18. No conjunction with the semicolon. It connects 2 independent clauses.Example: All except for Slache; we don't really talk about that. Or All except for Slache, but we don't really talk about that.
  19. Go Critter, go! Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  20. There's thunder and rain. The Beatles are singing O Bla Di. Half of my house is spotless. The other half....not so much. Captain Mal built the batcave out of MUS blocks and our power just flickered. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  21. Master bedroom and closet are done. Another break and then I'll move into the living room. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  22. I usually have between 5-15 open at any given time. I thought that was a lot, but some of y'all have me beat by quite a bit. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  23. I cleaned the master bathroom and started on my bedroom. Then the dumb dog (as opposed to my other, smarter dogs) decided to poop in Captain Mal's room. So I cleaned that up and shampooed his carpet. Now for a break, then I will finish my room. It's a bippity-boppity Booya!
  24. Happy Birthday! Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
