It's Friday! I very much succeeded in goofing off all day yesterday. It was fantastic. Today (and probably tomorrow), I am going to clean my house. I am starting at one end and deep cleaning each room until they are all sparkly and smell yummy. Hooray for volleyball wins! It's so cool when you can see such improvement. Good luck on the busking. I've been thinking about doing it this way as well. We are also in TX so we schooled through the hottest months. It makes no sense to be outside when it's over 100 degrees. And both of my boys are January babies, so the new year really is a fresh start all around. Also, you can plan in Oct-Nov and take advantage of Black Friday deals for your curriculum. I am just another beginner homeschool mom here to commiserate. I don't have any magic tricks or sage advice. I do have a kindergartener who keeps messing up my timetables. I don't like cleaning up art messes or throwing away a hundred sheets of paper with scribbles on them. Our kindergarten art is done strictly on our whiteboards, with a craft every couple of months. My kinder son is not reading. He knows all his letter sounds, but blending is hard for him. We are still working on 2 letter words. He loves doing science experiments, but doesn't care about why they work. He is good at math, to the point where he's a smart aleck about it. His handwriting often includes backward letters. I'm not stressing about it. He's almost 6. He will get there with lots of practice. And we have years to practice.

Good morning! This week has been so crazy with the running errands and appointments and school and so much to do. All of that has been done. So we're starting our break week 2 days early. Because we need it. My to do list for today: Drink coffee Light candles Dinner in the slow cooker Read ITT That's it. I'm not doing anything else.

I have pictures on my walls. But I have not updated them in over 4 years. Not even when we moved. So there are baby/toddler pictures of Weapon X, and none of Captain Mal. I keep meaning to fix that.

Oh yeah. I should probably add that now.

I'm asking for rechargeable batteries and a membership to the Y. I don't want anything else.

And there's an alarm going off. I can't stop it. The side button will act as snooze, but it keeps going off every 10 mins. I hope it dies soon.

I broke my phone. Thoroughly. Oh man, it is good and broken. It slipped out of my purse while I was getting into the car. I slammed the door on it. It doesn't work anymore.

I'm up. DH has been working overtime. He came home after 10 last night and left before 6:30 this morning.
