  1. Whew! I am all caught up. I'm excited today because we are finally sending my SUV to the shop to get fixed. It broke down on Easter, y'all. We were lucky to find a cheap and reliable 'temp' car for me to drive the past 9 or 10 months and I am grateful for it. But honestly, I do not like the car and I can't wait to have my SUV back in a few weeks. We have speech and OT today, and I have a couple more gifts to buy. Then the wrapathon will commence. I have been using my practice bullet journal to figure out how I want to set the real one up when Santa brings it. I think I've found the layouts that I prefer, at least for now. I must go shower and pantz now. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  2. Good morning! Coffee! I have to ketchup. I'm like 3 pages back. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  3. Reading skills refers to learning how to read and improving fluency. Reading literature is about exposing them to great stories, whether they read independently or you read to him. If he no longer needs phonics, reading skills should focus on fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  4. I woke up at 5 AM wheezing and coughing. So I took some benadryl and propped myself up on the couch. I am just coming out of the coma. I hope everyone's day starts looking up. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  5. I don't garden. I have a black thumb. I do have one houseplant that I haven't managed to kill yet though. It's pretty exciting. I have big plans to paint walls and decorate, but I haven't actually done any of it yet. We built a fence and a small deck (which we plan to expand). It just seems that when we have time for projects, there is no money. When there's money, there is no time. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  6. We bought our house a year and a half ago. It's actually a manufactured home. Nothing fancy, but I'm still pretty excited just to have it. Before we moved here, all 4 of us were in a 1 bedroom apartment. That is the first time I've used niblings in conversation. It was entirely unnecessary too because all 4 are boys. So yeah. 7. That sounds amazing. My parents came by this morning with a 14' trampoline for the boys, and then we all went to my brother's house for lunch. Tomorrow is his birthday so there was pie. It was nice and all the niblings played pirates for hours. There is apparently quite a bit of invisible treasure in my brother's yard. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  8. Good luck to your DC! Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  9. I was trying to pick a leuchtturm, but I don't know which one I want. I want either a green or royal blue dotted one, I think. But for some reason the colors I want either have the wrong paper, or are inexplicably more expensive. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  10. I'm praying for happy results. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  11. I already own guns. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  12. I had a dream last night about a serial killing taxidermist who murdered beautiful young women and preserved their corpses while Frank Sinatra's 'The Way You Look Tonight' played in the background. Anyone want to try to interpret that one? Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  13. It's a Texas thing. As you said, the freezing weather is not common round these parts. Why spend money on warm clothing that you wear maybe twice a year when you can just grab a throw blanket and go? Personally, I love cold-weather gear and have a lot of it. So whenever the temperatures are even close to cold I put on hats and gloves and jackets. It's not necessary, but I barely ever get a chance to wear them. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  14. I think Santa may be bringing me a Lechturm (or however it's spelled). I don't really need too much to justify stationary purchases. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  15. Fitting in is overrated. I like to stand out. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  16. I've had my bullet journal for a week now. I messed it up yesterday and I'm trying to convince myself that it doesn't matter. I love the homeschool bullet journals though. It would be so cool to actually have a record of all the things we learned about and did. I want to have one for every 'grade'. And record details like discussion notes and rabbit trails and random thoughts that the kids might think. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  17. Hooray for old friends! Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  18. I got my results back from the doctor today. I am not currently anaemic and my thyroid is functioning normally. And (please don't hurt me for saying this) I gained enough weight to not be considered underweight. I do, however, have some sort of bacterial infection so they gave me antibiotics. But I feel fine so I'm not worried about that. Can I bacterial infection cause insomnia? I have had trouble sleeping lately. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  19. Finn (the big dog) is being very sweet to me so I won't put him back out in the cold. He thinks warm cuddles are better than cold wet puddles. He's right. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  20. Sometimes babies just need to be licked. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  21. Wait...What did I do? Is it because I licked my kids? Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  22. I have licked both my kids. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  23. By the way, I think I've decided that bullet journaling is awesome. I'm not sure I really like it for my personal planning, but as a homeschool planner it fits me well. I like the idea of being able to record what consistently gets skipped or rescheduled, and keep teacher notes and thoughts and review them to find patterns. Plus, having a daily log could come in handy if I ever have to prove to anyone that I actually educate the children. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  24. I'm just super relaxed about kinder all the time anyway. I try not to fight him or force it. We keep lessons short and take breaks if he's not cooperative. I know eventually I will have to be much more strict about getting stuff done; I'm glad I'm not there yet. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  25. My oldest is only Kindergarten. I think I can get away with it for now. In a few years, I will be less able to just declare us done for no reason.
