I would probably just use SOTW as a read aloud. The early elementary years are really just about exposing them to the topics anyway, and if history is not her thing you don't need to do a bunch of projects or add-ons with it. IEP meeting is done. The evaluation they did last month did not qualify him for a learning disability. But they said there were some red flags, and we may want to test again in a year or two. He still qualifies for speech services through the school, which is great because I may have to drop or seriously cut back on the private therapy thanks to our new insurance. Speaking of insurance, ARRRGH! $35 per session! It was $13 with Blue Cross. Grrr. Anyway, I should probably teach these kids at some point today. Maybe. Maybe I will just go take a nap. Grrr! DH's company switched our insurance from Blue Cross to Cigna. I don't know what benefits changed; I'll be combing through the packet tomorrow. But Weapon X has a 'non-categorical language delay' and it's looking like without an official diagnosis they won't cover his speech therapy. At least not without me jumping through quite a few hoops.
