But what about birth control?

Your post is priceless!! "DTD and think of what groceries I need to get.." The *talk* with my mom was pretty much the same along with a book with cartoons of a man and woman completely covered up in bed!!! I remember telling my mom that I was going to Kaiser for a DRs appt. and she thought I said KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) looking for a job!!!! I just wanted to ask the DR. about bc and sex in general, b/c my mom was not talking to me about it when I did ask her. I just don't want my kids talking to a stranger albeit a MD or good gracious, a just a clueless as my son, friend of his about sex. That's why talking about those types of issues are not taboo at my house. -
the proper way to boil an egg
charmama4 replied to charmama4's topic in General Education Discussion Board
*what did I use?* 3.0 qt pot no lid 7 cups H2O slotted spoon small bowl 2 eggs (July 30 exp) *what did I do?* put ingredients into pot put on stove to boil for 10min turned off heat took slotted spoon and WHACKED the eggs (I have 1st degree burns on arms b/c of this) put eggs into small bowl with cold H2O peeled after 5min. *what happened?* shells came completely AND easily off!!!:hurray: *what did I learn?* that I should have removed the darn eggs from the hot H2o before whacking them! there's something to cracked shells that helps with peeling. water under the shell...maybe? That's it for today my fellow lab assistance. Thank you and good night (er um morning) -
I"m glad I'm not a yellow jacket :D:lol:

sex doesn't scare me it's ignorance that scares me. I don't want to be ignorant to what my kids are up against. It's scary out there but I can't keep them in their rooms till age 18. Education would have to be their weapon to defeat life's battles. And if they stumble, I'll be there to catch them. So, bring on the cucumber and let's learn how to put on a condom!! OB office here we come with a list of questions. -
I voted *I would but would take it away if any questionable was going on* We are a military family and the kids have friends all over and it's easier for them to keep in touch. I think in the 2 years that they have had it, I had to put FaceBook in time out 2 times. One time for 2 of the kids. I monitor, I have their passwords, I check their emails and I educate them on internet issues.

*what did I use* 3.0 qt pot w/lid 7 cups H2O 2 eggs (July 30 exp) slotted spoon small bowl *what did I do* placed all ingredients in pot on stove to boil for 10min. turned heat off, moved pot to a cold burner, covered with lid for 18 min. with slotted spoon removed eggs from pot into small bowl and ran cold H2O over eggs for 5 min. peeled *what happened?* AARRGGG!!!!!! one egg cracked during boiling process, said egg LOST 75% of itself!!!! second egg peeled completely not with ease though, membrane fought me :glare: *what did I learn?* Betty Crocker/LauraGB's method worked on half way. Bummer for Betty! Ok, one for the day and the lab (er um kitchen) is closed -

Pros and cons between these two schedules?
charmama4 replied to MrsMe's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
I think the 3 week on 1 week off would be too short, for me anyways. That's why we do 4 weeks on 1 week off, we school yearround with all of August off and every other friday off when dh has off. We use that time to decompress and vegg or plan a little mini vacation with family,. -
S/O on teen pregnancy thread: Adoption
charmama4 replied to jujsky's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Yes, thank you for your couragous post. I think we as mothers/parents need to support our children in what ever life decision they make. If they don't have the support of their parents whose support do they have? Strangers, other clueless kids? I shudder to think my children would ever feel *alone*. This has made me think even more about life education and values and non-judgement. Thank you jujsky. -

*what did I use?* 3.0 qt pot w/lid 7cups H2O 2 eggs (July 30 exp) slotted spoon small bowl *what did I do?* put ingredients into pot on stove to boil for 10min. turned heat off, left pot on burner and covered for 4min. with slotted spoon placed eggs into small bowl to run cold water over for 3min. peeled eggs *what happened?* one egg cracked during boiling phase, it peeled very easily and completly. second egg also peeled easily and completely. *what did I learn?* the lid may have made a difference on ward and up ward!! -

I asked my ds if he was referring to current events, he shrugged his shoulders and replied, "no, just wondering" He's 14yo and on a major military kick right now. He checked out 3 books on military weapons. He's really interested in the history of the weapons used in the military. I'm wondering if I could toss in a book about the history of the Air Force (we are an AF family ;)) Thanks for all your replies though, I'm still learning.:D -
