  1. Something from bath n body works, or a fun bag of candy- giant lollipop, twizzlers, xl candy bar, wax lips, pixie sticks
  2. Great, that's what I was thinking. He loved history for years, but is pretty much over it now & all about computer science/ engineering/ robotics. I couldn't figure out how to do another history class on top of everything else he wants to take senior year, most at the CC or local U. Thanks all!
  3. We always drive at least 2-3 to get a car :) Hope you like it!
  4. I had a gift card/ credit for $90 & 20% off
  5. I thought about that too. She has Uggs & other styles for running around. These will mostly be for out playing in the snow with the littles. And they're in style now which is huge for a newly 14 yr old ;) And pull on too, she can't tie laces. Hope they work for her
  6. Update- ordered next size up. Llbean has easy returns if need be. Only cost me $9.80!!
  7. We like Koosh balls for kids who throw stuff :) IKEA has a soft barn set with soft truck & animals. I've also seen soft nesting cups, bowls, stackers
  8. Mine went for the first time this year- as teens. They chose Paris & London. They loved it! Typical touristy vacation. They went with dh & my parents. I stayed home with the littles. I've done Europe many times (lived overseas) & didn't need to do Paris & London again and had zero interest in dragging the littles through Europe. We do whole family camping vacations in the states during the summer. I like the idea of 1:1 vacations, I plan to take dd somewhere myself in another few years.
  9. Hmm, kids are weird. Fickle, I guess is a better word. I hate it when they do that! Maybe throw a sheet over & make a fort.
  10. We had pizza & wings with family last weekend before they all went traveling :)
  11. Does anyone use Boggs for winter boots in a place that gets "real" winter? Ll bean is carrying winter Boggs this year & dd , 14, needs a pair of ladies waterproof boots (& I have a gift card & coupon). I hear all about these but we've never owned them. ** do they run small? She likes thick fuzzy socks. Thanks
  12. I've been getting rid of stuff for a few years now. Really. It gets easier each time I go through an area. Now we're getting our house ready to sell & moving to a bigger place, but with less storage. I'm ruthless now! Dh is finally on board too, now that things are noticeably cleaner & less cluttered (I was really good at storing stuff so it wasn't a mess). My current project has been younger kids homeschooling supplies, games, manipulatives. My teens liked all that stuff when they were little & were a few years apart. My littles are closer in age & play together, but not with stuff, just running around. So, lots of that stuff is going. And reall, how many color, number, sorting, matching style games do they need? Good luck!
  13. We plan to move. We currently have a huge sturdy treehouse/ swing set thing I got used from a friend when they moved away. I was so excited, but I really don't want to take it apart & move it again! Neither of my littles likes swinging, just climbing, it turns out. Plus the new house is near a town park with climber & swings so I think we can skip having one in our new small yard. (& my brother lives across the street & his kids have a climber swing set too) Anyways, we're thinking of getting a dome climber thing instead since the new yard is small. Anyone have one? They look like a pain to put together though. They use the mini one like this at our kids museum, but will be growing into a bigger one soon. We'd get it next summer. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002XULJDW/ref=twister_B00DQ9D202?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 We'll also put up our little tykes slide/ combo for a few years till they outgrow it & one of the preschool size "my first trampolines". (Youngest has a LOT of energy)
  14. I want a Qalo wedding ring. And we are putting on offer in on a house :)
  15. We own one & share with the teens. Or one goes on ur on kayak, one on sup. We got little kids hybrid kayak/sups for the littles. My parents live on lake though, so a few hang on on shore, others take turns with the boats
  16. We buy ours from a good family friend & their organic farm. We pick up at their shop now though, not the farm. My 3 year old thought we were going out there to "play with the turkeys", um, no. I was like "nope, they're dead, we're going to eat them" & she was like "oh, ok". $100 for a 20 + lb turkey. We bought 3- only chance all year & we like to cook one for Xmas & one on a random weekend in winter for fun :) It's a lot of turkey just for 6 of us, but after a day or two of leftovers, I chop & freeze for soup, pot pies, etc. Yum! *eta- I love too that we're buying from a family we know! I know exactly how their farm works & the kids who get to be provided for from the $ they make
  17. Ds will have 4 credits of history at the end of this year, grade 11. (World/ ancients & medieval, US History, Gotv/ Econ, and 2 .5 credits of WWII history & British history) Next year,he doesnt want to do another credit of history, he has other areas he wants to spend more time on. Will it matter that he doesn't have history in 12th? He's planning a bunch of DE classes & wants his schedule open for STEM stuff. I often see colleges list "4 years of history", but do they really mean "4 credits?"
  18. Right, to people from NYC or other states, "anything" north of the city is "upstate". To people from the rest of the state, it's not :)
  19. Just so you know, those schools are not " upstate NY". Rochester is central, Albany is capital district, update is Adirondacks & north of them :) Has she looked into Russell Sage in Troy? Lovely little women's college down the hill from RPI. Troy is becoming quite the trendy town these days, much nicer than when we were there. Good luck!
  20. I have a room I need to redo. It currently has wallpaper that has been painted over. Except for a big place my kids tried to tear it down, sigh. I really really don't want to have to try to strip the old wallpaper/ paint combo off. Can I use self adhesive wallpaper over it? Does that stuff work well? I hate the old style dip & wet kind. It's a big room.
  21. Derek Owens is online, & offers both options. You can email him & he'll help you decide, but I think you can try honors then change if need be ( his honors just includes extra more difficult problems & longer tests on top of the regular option, not a separate program). We've been very pleased (ds is doing DO AG 2 this year, not honors, but in retrospect, should have).
  22. Mine is refusing to get his permit so far. I'm ok with that. We're going to pay for lessons.
