  1. Yay! :hurray: :) I'm so glad it was the right one. It was funny. I liked the young guy with the screen tee and cool glasses who opens his arms to reveal his tatoo showing that he has a past. That cracked me up. hehehehe I serve in the middle school ministry at my church and that video definitely had me chuckling. I see stuff like this all the time at my church, although maybe not to that extreme. It was funny though. It's good to be able to laugh at the silly things we do. :)
  2.:lol::lol: Indeed! Great word. That site is funny. I liked the hospital duckface. She just looked so uncommitted to it and what's with all the weird nude lipsticks?
  3. I wonder if you used an HD setting powder instead of the mineral veil if that would be enough to correct the problem. Laura Mercier's translucent powder photographs beautifully as well and you could use that as a setting powder with mineral makeup too. :)
  4. A good primer can minimize your pores and create a smooth canvas for your makeup to go on. Benefit's Porefessional is good, if you're going to go with bare minerals then you might want to get her Prime Time primer to go underneath. Bare Escentuals's website often has a lot of sales on their starter kits, sometimes Sephora.com does too. I haven't used Benefit's foundation, but I've heard good things about it too. For me, I vascilate between Bare Minerals and Nars Sheer Glow depending on my mood. Another thing that you might want to look into is a good exfoliator. Especially once you get into your 30's it's important to exfoliate a couple of times a week. It will get all the layers of dead skin off so that your make up will go on better and smoother without getting "stuck" on dry or flaky patches. If you have a Sephora near you, you can actually go in and get your makeup done for free by one of the makeup artists. That way you can try out different brands before you buy since they carry a huge selection including bare minerals and benefit. HTH
  5. What kind of effect do you want to achieve? Are you into something bold and dramatic or neutrals. How much time/energy do you want to put into making up your face. Do you have any sensory aversions against powders or liquids?
  6. Is this it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4ghjPbULEU I've never seen the video so I can't say, but I just searched youtube for "Starbucks Church".
  7. I confess that sometimes I check "kid videos" out of the library that are really for ME. ;) I've watched Puss in Boots with Christopher Walken 3 times. My dd wouldn't even sit through 10 minutes of it because she said it was "cheesy" and "boring". :tongue_smilie::lol: I've actually stayed up late when everyone else was gone to bed and watched it on Hulu. I can't help myself! hehehehe
  8. Awwww that is the cutest thing ever!! I LOVE sheep and those are absolutely adorable. You did a great job. :) :hurray:
  9. LOL I know that's true, but I said that more because I wish I were 29 again, not because I wanted to sleep with a blankie. ;) :D I never did have a favorite blankie when I was little, but I did have a certain teddy bear that I couldn't sleep without, but he's long gone now. My mom conveniently left him behind on one of our vacation trips because he was so old and ratty. :tongue_smilie:
  10. :) Yep, chanclas, chancletas the same thing. Any kind of sandal type shoe, but mostly the ones that have chunky heels although it includes flip flops too. :) I always thought that was a Cuban word. That's cool that you had it out in Cali too. :)
  11. LOL A native South Floridian here as well. I'm 39 and never seen snow in my life. I don't know what I would do with myself if I were ever in it. I only wear flip flops to do yard work or go to the beach but I wear my chancletas everywhere. Feet need air conditioning. Seriously. they do. ;) :D
  12. :iagree::iagree::iagree: Very lovely. Thanks for sharing. :)
  13. My dd used to love Comet's Nine Lives by Jan Brett. She also liked the Dibble and Dabble books and The Cat in the Hat. :)
  14. I confess that I wish I were 29 again. :tongue_smilie:
  15. I answered other because my child is not 11 or younger, she's 13 and a half but she's never had a cell phone.
  16. Wow! I had a similar experience in a mall as well. I was climbing up the stairs after my mom and older brother had already gone up and were waiting for me at the top. I went a certain number of steps and then I couldn't go any higher. I was shaking all over and couldn't budge. My mom was yelling at me but I just couldn't do it. She was so frustrated that she had to come back down with my brother in tow and we took the escalator instead, which was almost as bad because I was afraid of the escalator too. I was afraid it would cut my feet off. Thanks Mr. Bill. :glare:
  17. Oh my gosh, I do that too! :) Especially if I'm close to my house, I'll drive past it and turn back out onto the main street and go the other way so they won't see where I live. lol Wow!! He is awesome! I'm with you on the roach thing. When I was little our house was infested with them. I used to sleep under my sheets with every possible crevice tucked in under my body for fear of them crawling on me in the night. shudder. I am pathologically afraid of a palmetto bug flying at me and getting caught up in my hair. Just thinking about it makes me want to faint. Me too. I literally start to shake and tremble all over if I go up to high and I have to crawl the rest of the way. I confess that I am a wuss! hehehe
  18. :001_wub: How sweet. Happy Anniversary. :)
  19. ya'll are giving me the heebee jeebees. I confess that I have nightmares a lot and have had dh wake me up more times than I care to admit because I was screaming and casting out demons in my sleep.
  20. Is that book considered a classic?? I thought it was just popular fiction. It is interesting to think about what makes a classic "classic" and who decides.
