I am dealing with the same thing! It is so annoying. I have never needed to be a middle person between insurance and hospital until this year. We met our family deductible and I still have the clinic sending me bills! So frustrating.

Have fun! I have always found that rule to be very strict. I have had many experiences that were not great at airports! Check your purse and all things well, it is easy to forget what is hiding in there. I always forgot to check my purse. Well 6 hours in security while in Germany, and now I never forget to look through my purse.

Good point. I think that is my hesitation, I just didn't know how to word it. When I have done searches on here people rave about all the skills CLE reading teaches, but as I have looked at samples, the reading textbooks just look do dry and boring.

That makes sense. I have read that writing out notes vs typing makes things stick better. So I would imagine that writing a sentence out vs underlining and so forth would stick better. Thank you all for sharing your wisdom!

Boy/ girl sleepovers are only with cousins. My ds is 6 and cousin is 7. They just had a sleepover the other week.

I was talking with a friend and she said she never had a dream about her children before she was pregnant or during pregnancy. So just wondering how common dreams are. My husband's friend had a dream we were holding a baby boy two months before we conceived. After I was pregnant I had a dream of my boy- his eye color, hair, everything and that is what he looks like. I have a different friend who just had a dream of me with a baby. I have been praying for another child, and pray this dream was from God. How about you did you or anyone else have a dream?

Yes! I visited a KJV only church about three years ago. (I don't hold the same thoughts) But Sunday school was all focused on the errors of NIV. The pastor simply put up two verses from the book of Daniel as proof. So glad I had my Bible with me to show farther down where the same wording as NIV showed up in the same chapter. The pastor had no comment to that! And well I never went back, as I couldn't handle such carelessness with the Bible. I have seen the same little quick postings on fb on the different versions. People really need to read it all in context and not just look at one little thing and come to a conclusion. Anyways, that was off topic but just came to mind.

Ds likes workbooks, but I don'r want to overdo the workbooks either.

Looking for 3rd grade. As far as I can tell they are similar in rigor. I have used FLL. And have been loving Spelling You See, so I think I wouldn't use the spelling in CLE although it is nice to think of it altogether. If you have used these what are your thoughts. Which did you like more and why?

I brought mine in the past for years. Then our church bought some for the pews, and it is displayed on the power point. So I don't anymore. This way I am following the same version being read. For life group I always bring mine. My hubby uses his Bible app. He has had a few older generations comment that he is playing on the phone. But it is easier to just have the phone.

Oh yes! For some reason my boy just cannot remember stuff!

I am in bed with the flu. Ds had a big smile on his face as I tucked him into bed last night and said today would be a sick day. I have just been pushing myself too much the last few weeks.

I 100% agree! Just trying to sell more stuff. And now the cups say they are only good for 6 months (if I remember correctly) It is so crazy how they just want to keep making more stuff to sell. Let's keep filling our land fills with more stuff....

My 6 year old uses bathrooms alone. Although sometimes he can't reach sink, soap, towels or get the door. I usually am right outside waiting for him unless I know the place and know he can do it. This past summer for swimming he had to do the locker room alone. It was horrible! Not ready for that yet!

Can we discuss whether having a reading program is needed or just reading good books is enough? My thoughts are I don't want to "ruin" good books with workbooks or over thinking them. Is it worth it to do a reading program like CLE where the stories don't matter? Just to get the work of learning to think about what you read? Then obviously just reading good books at other times. Or is that pointless and just read good books and that is enough? I don't want to talk a lot more beyond likes, dislikes, surprises and those kinds of things. What do you all think?

My son is loving the Amish Pathway readers. I am buying him the second grade level for our next semmester of school. He flew through the 1st grade books. We have not been doing these as "school" just for free reading. Is there any point in slowing him down? Does the content ever get to the point of being too much for young kids? I am thinking since the Amish write these stories that there is nothing to worry with content as he keeps moving up. Even if he is a few grades ahead right?
