  2. I was going to suggest cutting out pictures from magazines, old encyclopedias (you can get some cheap at Goodwill or half price books), or even the internet. My son is in Kindergarten and really does not like drawing. He will attempt to copy what I write on the board so sometimes I write his narration there and he will copy it down. On a RARE occasion he will write on his own in his nature journal. Draw Write Now is a great collection of books. My son will draw when using those books. I also bought Mark Kistler's Online Art Lessons from Homeschool buyers coop and he has done about one lesson a week. Slowly he is starting to take a little bit of interest in drawing with a little push from me.
  3. CBD goes to 20% off in April BUT the prices are going to be higher. I have the current catalog and currently the prices are cheaper with the 12% off.

  5. My hubby has not had a raise in the past 3 years due to the Economy. Last year they made them take off two weeks and everyone got a pay cut. It stinks!
  6. We met, fell in love and started dating (pretty much in that order) at age 15. We got married when we were 21. We have been married almost 12 years.
  7. Are you worried because of your THyroid? I am hypothyroid and have Asthma. I end up on prednisone at least once (dose pack) or twice a year. For that short of a period of time it does not hurt. It will be fine if taken over a five day period with you decreasing it. You may feel more tired but I am guessing since you are so sick you will feel that way anyway. I personally just got over a two week MEGA virus that left me with hallucinations from high fever and unable to see in one eye (the viral pink eye was that bad and I still have sight problems). I thought I was dying. I ended up on prednisone and the ER DR gave me 60 MG over 4 days without decreasing. I started seeing spiders everywhere on that high of a dose ... my doctor said this is not uncommon with some people. So don't stress if you start seeing things. Just call your doctor. Drink lots of water while on it and after to flush all the water weight you will gain out. I hope it helps you get better quickly!
  8. You can only cash out 5 $5 gift cards a month on swagbucks. Once you hit 5 you might as well save up for the $50. Or if you want you can wait until the next month to cash out. At some point though you probably will need to cash out another denomination and $50 is a better value than $25.
  9. I have been getting at least $25 a month through swagbucks and some months get $75. I just started zoombucks and have had pretty good luck at it too. You will want to use other email addy's for their offers as well. They have the same offer walls as swagbucks plus they do surveys, have daily points and search points. If you are good at or like to play games you can earn some points doing that. Once you get 2000 points you can cash it out for a $20 Amazon gift card (or other retailer) and after the first one you can cash out at 1000 points ($10 gift card). I earned my first $20 at zoombucks within 7 days. Between these two sites I am funding all of my kids Christmas gifts this year. I am just waiting on another $40 worth to pay for my oldest daughters last gift.

  13. Mint.com. It is very easy to set up and I like seeing all the debt go away. :)
  14. Are you in TX? My hubby will be at 3 am because that is when he gets off work. I hope you stay safe tonight
  15. You are welcome. They are something I make up. I basically Google what we are going to read or learn about and choose projects/lapbooks that I think will interest the kids. We did a lapbook last week for Creation.

  16. We start with Bible. My daughter reads a story out of her bible daily and then we work on a lesson out of their lifepac or a "Bible project". We also read books about missionary's and rehearse our bible memory work for Awana during this time. The kids love starting with God and it normally makes the rest of the day go smoother.
  17. Here is mine! Here was a midweek project one.
  18. Week 3 here. Tons of pictures in the slideshow.
  19. Just could not see a Buffy post and NOT post that I MISS BUFFY!!!! I cried for months after the final season (of course I had just had my first baby and was having major PPD). The only character that bothered me that much was Kennedy and you won't get there for a long while.
  20. This is what I experienced but it was about 8 weeks when I miscarried. :grouphug:
  21. I have. After my second child I had emergency gallbladder surgery and at the same time they fixed an umbilical Hernia. I got over the gallbladder part quickly. The Hernia repair had to be drained a few times and hurt the full 6 weeks of healing. I will pray that yours goes much more quickly
  22. I am so sorry for the loss. It breaks my heart to read this whole thread.
