  1. Yay! Switching to Firefox worked! Thank you! :hurray: I actually prefer Google Chrome and will also try that ad blocker recommended by Shanzanne.
  2. I'm using Google Chrome right now, but will try something else.
  3. Does rebooting just mean turning your computer off and on? If so, I did it with no success regarding the ads here.
  4. The thing is we have good virus protection. Beyond that I'm totally clueless about internet stuff. Well, besides changing passwords ever so often so we don't get hacked. So not a techie. :crying:
  5. Thank you for this. I just Googled how to do this, and I think I did it correctly. Unfortunately, the ads are still here. They're just at this site though. Nowhere else we visit has been affected. I will try rebooting.
  6. Not to mention that several of the ads are of things that my kids don't see or use like WartTune and Warcraft. The ads have scary creatures with crazy weapons featuring violence. Our computer is centrally located, so it's been though keeping my youngers from seeing them.
  7. I just saw your post on this thread and replied there: http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/511421-wtm-forum-spam/ Sorry, it is frustrating!
  8. So I'm not the only one! Please let me know how you resolve it, will you? I tried the free Spybot software download that OtherJohn recommended and that didn't seem to do the trick. Bummer.
  9. We're watching via Youtube, so we don't get to see the whole show just clips. Christina Grimme has our vote. We've enjoyed listening to her covers since we saw her on The Voice. One of our favorites: She recently released this single. I think it's great!
  10. Thank you for your help! I'm still seeing the ads. I did run our antivirus scan last night but that didn't help. I'll try the spam check. Thanks again.
  11. Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately, I'm still getting the ads whether I'm logged in or out. I ran our virus scan last night and a few things were found and taken care of, and I was hoping to come here to find the PHP ads returned. This is frustrating.
  12. I have a Warcraft at the bottom (no MP thing) and Big Farm (choose your character it says) ad at the top. They change every visit and page from auto insurance to Build a Bear. I feel sick thinking that our computer has a virus, but again this is only happening on this site. We thought we had really good virus protection with Kaspersky. :confused1: :crying:
  13. Is anyone else getting spam here where the PHP advertisements used to be? I've been getting this for several days, and when I clicked on the banner/link my internet security warned me to not open it. This is the only site we visit that this is happening with. I'm not sure what's going on.
  14. My older boys were bored out of their minds with Phonics Pathways and OPGTR. I could not be more serious. Truly, they were utterly bored. I've heard great things about the Abeka phonics program. We now use Explode the Code and Happy Phonics games, and the Happy Phonics IG explains how to use the two together. My younger boys love this combo. Writing when learning to read helps reinforce the phonics, it adds some activity, and as a bonus gives the kids a head start on spelling. Because writing is involved (with ETC not HP), we do short lessons in the beginning.
  15. I found this old thread by searching and am bumping for more input, please. Thank you!

  17. I feel the same way about vaccine injuries and deaths. Is "The accepted evidence shows that the risks of immunisation are tolerable for most children and adults." (Sadie) really acceptable? Most may seem acceptable, until someone you love is vaccine injured, and then those statistics become much more personal. http://www.iansvoice.org/ - Baby Ian died at 47 days old due to the Hep. B vaccine that he received at 3 days old.
  18. Thank you for posting this! This is an awesome resource!
  19. Yes The DTP vaccine insert itself lists Autism and SIDS as frequently reported and serious side effects. Page 11: http://www.fda.gov/downloads/BiologicsBloodVaccines/Vaccines/ApprovedProducts/ucm101580.pdf http://www.naturalnews.com/036255_MMR_autism_court_case.html
  20. We pair R&S with Spelling City for extra practice. They play 2 games after each day's workbook activity and the test. Also, if a child misses a word in their workbook (by being lazy by not copying correctly :p or just not being careful enough) they are required to write it right 3 times. If they miss a word on their spelling test (rare) then the words goes on their next test, too. I do love that R&S is independent, but it's important to me to set up these safeguards to be sure that they're really learning. We also include narration into our spelling lessons rather than memorization. My kids really like R&S, and their spelling is great and getting better with each new lesson!
  21. :hurray: We are so happy with GWG! We do narration (after learning something new and for review) rather than memorization in all subjects including grammar. Narration really makes my children think and own the information.
  22. Curses Windows 8! This won't work with our operating system. Bummer. The site did direct me to an app called Diagrammer to Go, and we'll check that out.
  23. P.S. They sometimes take their tests at Spelling City, as well, but it's not too often that things get that crazy around here. :)
