  2. I don't have an answer as we are just in the begining process of VT, but I wanted you to know I read this and I am hoping someone can help you. :grouphug:
  3. What grade level would the Ancient History-Based Writing Lessons be meant for? Would I need to go through TWSS first? Thanks for the help and the link.
  4. People tell me I look younger than I am, but I think they expect me to be alot older since we have 10 kids. I am 39.
  5. Having therapy at home would definitely help. As of right now he is scheduled for 3 days a week, one hour each time and it's a 30 min ride or more each day. If we don't get services at home, we will learn to school in the van some subjects. I know it wil all work out, I tend to over worry and plan things. I was mapping out our schedule and panicked LOL
  6. I am thinking of using IEW with my 8th, 7th and 5th graders next year, instead of TOG's writing. If we did SWI B next year, would we do SWI BB or go into C the year after? And what about after they finish the continuation course? Does anyone have a link to IEW's page? The old page doesn't work now?
  7. I leave my kids in the car with one of my older teens. I guess I would say if a child is old enough to legally babysit, then they should be old enough to be left in a locked car. This is Arkansas law on leaving a child in a car unattended: Leaving Children or Pets Unattended While the state doesn't have any specific laws concerning leaving children or animals unattended in vehicles, common sense dictates using extreme caution when doing so, especially during periods of excessive heat or cold. If you see an endangered child or animal, call 911 and give the vehicle location.
  8. Claire, I am so sorry and am praying for you. :grouphug: Barb, I am praying for you, also.
  9. I didn't think of that. I will have to see if that is a possibility down the road. I know I am over thinking things right now, I am just feeling overwhelmed at the moment.
  10. Can this could be used with a non-reading child? Or does it make sense to wait until the child is reading fluently?
  11. I had a detailed plan for what we were going to do next year and looking at my planned schedule, I just don't see how it's going to work once we add in various therapies and the extra time needed for the things I need to do with him at home. Is it possible to still give your others a decent classical education or does something have to give? I am trying to be realisitc.
  12. Thank you, Claire. I don't know much about OT either. My head is swimming with this all. I think I will wait till I see the neuro before we do anything so we know exactly what he needs.
  13. Thanks, Beth. I think I will give R&S a try, especially with their sale right now :D
  14. Oh, cool! I will call my order in tomorrow. Thank you!
  15. With everything going on with my 8 yo I never did. I will next week once things settle down. Thanks for asking!
  16. How long is the free shippping and 10% deal going on? I need to place and order and would love to save some $. Thanks!
  17. Which was is better or do you prefer and why? Thanks! :001_smile:
  18. I bought a black and decker one from WM for 19$ and it works great. I have my eye on one that has a stainless steel interior, but it's pricey. One day I will splurge. http://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Steel-Cooker-ME81-Formerly/dp/B000I5UEQM/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1205442503&sr=8-1
