  1. I have two Expedit shelves in white, and I never thought they looked ecru. They're definitely brighter than the furniture I have that was advertised as ecru. I don't have anything glossy white, though, so I don't know how that holds up over time.
  2. It's too expensive for me to have everyday, but I love Mystic Monk coffee. Their Jingle Bell Java is amazing. For everyday I like New England Coffee Co. Blueberry Cobbler.
  3. Well, Carey was in Doctor Who so you weren't far off :) I'm glad I could help!
  4. If you don't think you'll go through all 7 gallons of milk, can you get some of the shelf-stable stuff, like Parmalat? Also, if you make lentil soup or split pea soup with the dried beans, you don't need to worry about soaking them overnight first. You can get onions, celery, and carrots to add to the soup and freeze the extras. You can make a lb of dried beans go pretty far if you need to.
  5. They're really good with avocados - either as a sandwich or a salad.
  6. If you go on YouTube you can find a whole bunch with the cast of Doctor Who. Eccleston, Barrowman, Alex Kingston with a tiger puppet, etc. They are really cute.
  7. You're not by any chance thinking about the clip of Levar reading the Great Gatsby to Stephen Colbert and Carey Mulligan, are you?
  8. If you mean The Snowmen episode that takes place in Victorian London, check Amazon. The Bells of St. John makes a lot more sense if you've seen it. There are also little prequel/shorts that they released that you can find on YouTube. I don't know if they were included on the DVD.
  9. They're also going to turn it into fuel. So, basically, if it's not already a Doctor Who alien, they'll be arriving shortly.
  10. Assuming said wife isn't doing something like kicking small puppies, I'd be floored.
  11. I have hips and I like the way they fit. I can't find the bootcut jeans I have online at the moment, but I know they were the "favorite fit" style. They sit lower on my waist without looking like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen. Their customer service people are ridiculously nice. I'm sure you could give them a call and they'd know what cut would work best.
  12. LLBean. I used to live in Old Navy jeans but I feel like the quality has gone down in the last year or two. I got a pair of jeans from Bean last year and they are awesome.
  13. I'm not sure if they're exactly techno-thrillers, but maybe the Wallander mysteries?
  14. On the desktop Mac itself, if you go into Applications, do you have Image Capture? If you play around with the settings and you select PDF there should be a check box to combine everything into one document.
  15. When you scan something using the scanner, what sort of file does it get saved as? She should be able to export it as a PDF from the Mac. As for the app, I had forgotten that the earlier iPads didn't have cameras. Does anyone have a smartphone? That would work as well. The only other thing I can think of would be to take a picture of her paper with a digital camera, load it onto the computer, and either export it as one PDF or email the picture to herself on the iPad and try to find an app that will take files you already have and switch them to PDFs. I've never tried that but I would imagine something like that might exist. Seems like an awful lot of steps, though.
  16. I freeze it in leftover Chinese food containers, like the ones for soup or sweet and sour sauce. If you're not planning to leave it in the freezer for months, it works fine.
  17. I have a Mac and an Epson printer/scanner. When I scan something the preview screen that pops up on the computer gives me the option to save multiple pages as one file, I believe. Does yours not do that? Also, there are free apps that will scan and convert papers into PDFs. The easiest thing would be to load one of those onto the iPad, make the PDF, and then email the file.
  18. I have an LLBean canvas messenger bag I found on sale at one of their stores for $15ish. (It might have been on clearance because I can't find it on their website at the moment.) I love their stuff and they have the best return policy.
  19. I don't mind him having a mustache in theory. That particular mustache looks absurd, though.
  20. Has anyone mentioned that Lego House song? There's one that goes nowhere fast. Granted, I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Legos since I'm always stepping on them...
  21. Is Watson in witness protection?
  22. As far as curtain rods go, I overheard two women in the supermarket the other week talking about making curtain rods out of dowels or PVC pipes. I don't know how large their windows were, or how light the curtains would have to be, though. Also, I don't know if it's more trouble than it's worth, like the metal pipe tutorial you found.
  23. They're really good on sliced fresh mozzarella. I usually put a little basil and balsamic vinegar and/or olive oil on them. Depending on how salty the mozzarella is, you can add sea salt, too.
  24. If your issue is just that your parish seems meh and you're not getting anything out of it, but your actual beliefs haven't changed, I would check out another parish before switching religions. We ended up registered at a parish that's two towns over from us because that turned out to be the best fit. Nobody gave us a hard time for technically living in another parish's boundaries.
  25. So getting rid of kid's meals that nobody was buying (and I honestly didn't even know existed) is a "bold" decision? Wow, I want a life like that... :)
