MM is amazing. If a 8 year old can do MM4 and follows the instruction clearly, it says a lot about MM. We love it here

She got high average and above average and PHS in all science except life science. Things she always mentions life science is boring and she doesn't like it and she showed it in the exam😜

I got to look at one of my friend's BA 3 books and my DD loves it. My friend says it is not as good as Singapore. Is it true? But I love the looks of BA and my DD thinks it is super fun. Thoughts? Can BA be a standalone without CWP or IP and without MM pages or should I stick with MM,CWP and IP like we do now?

She is fast worker. I might just follow your suggestion and get the guides. Use it as summer work and do some puzzle type problems and get 4A for the school year. :) Thank you so much. Is it standalone though? Should I supplement with CWP, IP etc ?

Hi Laides, My DD8 finished MM4. We both are bored of MM. We would like to switch to BA. Is it ok if she starts from BA 4A? She passed the placement test but I am wondering if we would miss out on things. Would really appreciate it. Thanks

Hmmm...she is 8 years old and in second grade. So this will improve overtime? Her problem solving in math is really good. we work though CWP, IP, challenge math etc. But she has only 85 in it which got her total math down. I don't know if I am doing anything wrong and if I should work on improving it.

My DD8 got tested privately and she scored really high. And Iowa total battery is 90 percentile :( how do I interpret this? I was looking at Davidson this year!!! is tis too low?

Hi ladies, My daughter DS8, Currently finishing up MM4B declared she wants a fun curriculam for next year and no more MM. She does CWP and IP as well. She says it is not the problems but the Black and white nature of MM and it is crowded. Any suggestions? I love MM. It is Asian and part spiral. I don't want Singapore because of various books. Any ideas for math that is fun and challenging out there? or can we do LOF fractions, decimals and percents as standalone this year after MM4b? will she be ready for pre-algebra after that? That's what I try to do as well. She loves math. So we do MM, IP, CWP and primary challenge. I am tired. So just wanted to make sure. I would like to drop IP or CWP.

For a STEM oriented kid is MM sufficient without adding any supplements?

Hi, Has anyone tried math tutor DVD yet? He has one for 5th grade now (4 volume set). We are using MM and I can see myself becoming math handicapped and fighting (lol). Wondering if this can help us to watch together and do it. Asian math is our spine and don't intend to change MM. Reviews or advice please :)

How do you implement BA? Do you let the kid read the guide and do practice? how many pages to read in one sitting?

can we start straight from BA 3B for summer? skipping 3A since BA is not our spine and I have heard that 3A is unnecessarily hard.
