  1. Can a strong math student move on to Aops algebra using Wtma after MM7a and 7b? Is it fast paced for a young student? Help please
  2. Thank you so much for the replies.... Hopefully we finish MM7 and some chapters in Aops Julie pointed out by end of the school year. I will keep you guys updated. One more question! How long does it take for Aops Algebra? Can we finish it in a school year or should I schedule more than a year if we decide to go by Aops route?
  3. Thanks Julie! We will keep working with MM7 and Aops pre-A on the side. Let's see if Aops is still her style after chapter 2😳
  4. Thanks for the reply Julie! Do you think it is possible for students to handle Aops algebra with a different pre-A background?
  5. Thank you so much! It really really helps!! I am sure I will be back to you guys if I need more info! I am surprised that she loves Aops. She is my little perfectionis😳
  6. Hi Hive, After lurking through the forum and amazing advice from you ladies, I narrowed down my pre algebra and DD9 is whizzing through it. MM7 with Aops pre-A ( as a supplement) with zacarrow for problem solving I had Aops book and gave my DD the book to try and she loves it. But it is chapter 1 and it seems easy. I might have meltdowns with beastly chapter 2. Next year we are planning Aops algebra or foresters as spine with Aops supplement. What chapters would you absolutely do in Aops pre-A if MM7 is the spine? I would like to hand pick some chapters and have her work on them instead of making her do the whole book. Thanks in advance
  7. Mine is 9 years old and is very much accelerated. She doesn't love math but extremely good at it. i will definitely look into criticism thinking geometry and MM. Thanks a lot ladies
  8. What do you guys recommend for geometry and statistics? She is pretty strong in Arithmetic !
  9. Lol.., I am even scared to look at Aops...😜
  10. Thanks a lot for the quick reply. Do you think all 3 arbor books is Algebra1? After the 3, are you planning to do geometry? I also have Jacobs lined up. I was wondering if we should do JA and keys to algebra and dive into Jacobs as Algebra 1? Thanks again :)
  11. Hi ladies, I am racking my brain and still cannot come up with a solution. Is keys to algebra and Jousting Armadillos can be considered a complete " pre algebra"? With occasional Aops maybe once a week just to spice things up a little? How long does JA take to complete? It seems like a small book. Thanks a lot
  12. Thanks a lot. I will stick with BCM and throw JA in the mix :)
  13. The Reason I wanted to do MM6 along side is to make sure she is strong in basics ( she is very good). But given her age I don't want to take chances 😳 but she is way too ready for pre algebra and seems to grasp it.
  14. I know that JA is a discovery method and light one... So I would definitely like to keep it in the mix maybe once or twice a week for it to last a year? Do you think BCM or MM7? Which one is better? She is extremely good with Math. But doesn't like it😳 So I have one like that too. lol We started BCM already and she is breezing through it. She did MM1-5B. Should we skip MM6 and just do MM7 and JA with CWP/ Zacarro thrown in?
  15. How does this look for pre algebra?? MM6 and Lial's bcm and JA with Zacarro and CWP word problems thrown in. Will this make a whole pre A? Is MM6 and Lial's bcm similar?? Thanks in advance :)
  16. Thanks a lot Gil. Anybody on Chalkdust please????

  18. Hi Ladies, I am in a confusion. My 3rd grader finished Math mammoth 5 and BA academy 4a-4c. Working on 4D and I assume She will be done in a. Month. I highly value your opinion. Should I continue with MM6 or start her with Chalkdust basic math 6 or start pre algebra. She is like a sponge and a very quick study. We also do zacarro, Cwp and Olympiad books. I am lost for next year. Or do you all suggest something else? I don't want to do Aops with her very early. Should I do Arbor math books with MM6? We do this after school. We do 45 mins math everyday. Thank you so much in advance for helping
