  1. I agree with you for the most part. Except the unarmed protestors in other areas caused more than just property damage. They incited violence against police- which has resulted in the death of police officers. Just because they weren't described as being armed (I have no idea if they were or not. I don't remember it being mentioned) didn't mean they weren't violent and threatening. Having a gun doesn't make one a terrorist just like not having one doesn't make you non-violent. Behavior and words matter. http://www.startribune.com/police-union-official-critical-of-digusting-chant-at-black-lives-matter-march/323465911/ http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2015/04/28/baltimore-riots-freddie-gray-maryland/26498835/
  2. Did they do that with the other protestors in Baltimore, Ferguson, OWS? Quite frankly I think they should for every protest or demonstration.
  3. I'm in!! Can we share fave recipes here? And also any great prep tips? Oh and fave snack/no prep food to have on hand? I like to prep a bunch on Sunday a la the Well Fed WOD. I roast eggplant slices, tomatoes, peppers, onions and cauliflower, grill chicken breasts and make cauliflower rice and faux-tatoes and all of my soups for the week. I don't tend to make a bunch of sauces or dressings though I'm not against them. I guess it's just one more step. Lol!
  4. 😂😂😂. That is awful but so funny too! Honestly it sounds like a SNL skit doesn't it?
  5. Your cousin is beautiful. So glad she wasn't invovled in the mix up. Yikes. How is your little guy? You must have been so panicked. Head injuries bleed so much. I hope he's ok.
  6. Oh no! I know exactly how you feel. That happened to me with Think Geek last year. I bought all the gifts for kids on my list from there. Less than a week before Christmas I got the o"ops that item isn't in stock weve cancelled your order" email. I was ticked off. Then they offered me a $10 gift certificate to make up for it. Really? And just like you said, it's not so much that they sold out. I understand that. How in this age of automation does it take three weeks to figure out you sold out- especially if it was supposed to ship in 10 days according to the order confirmation?
  7. I get bored with dvds so I second the you tube suggestion. Do you have a smart phone? There are lots of workout apps you can get for just a few dollars or free.
  8. Are you my twin? Were we secretly separated at birth? Seriously I'm the same way (Euchre and Sequence champ). Chess is my kryptonite. My boys love it. Ive never enjoyed it (too slow paced. I need those timer things) I tend to tank early to get out of the game. Now my older boys are good enough I don't need to tank. I'm even competitive at TV. My husband doesn't like watching mysteries with me either cause I always have to figure out who dun it first. He just wants to, you know, suspend disbelief and enjoy the story. Clearly I must come to Switzerland to challenge your Clue title!
  9. I only ever did m,w,f so I can't help much.
  10. ï¸Awww. We should totally workout together. Then we could go to physical therapy together after we break, tear, pull everything. ;) Fyi- I didnt find CF to be a high stress competitive environment. No one was egging on any competition. I'm just a high stress competitive person. Seriously, shuffle board, mahjong, whatever.
  11. Yes! That is great advice no matter what form of excerise you choose. I did CF for a while and my kids still do. I enjoyed it but I teach fitness classes also and it was too much for my schedule. Couple of things- make sure your trainers are good. Your box is only as good as the actual instructors. They should give lots of instruction and guidance on form and should not push you to max out early on. At mine they made me stay with just pvc pipes or just the bar for the first month in foundations even though I am a fitness professional. I appreciated that. They wanted me to get the form right first. I've been to other places that didn't even ask about injuries or anything. Second, if you are competitive you need to watch yourself. I am very competitive in that environment and always want to be first across the line, do the most, etc. That is dangerous anywhere but especially at CF.
  12. 😂 don't you love that comment? Great suggestions. Thank you!
  13. Right? What the heck? I had no idea that eyebrows were yet another fun part of aging. And how is it far to have to wax/pluck AND fill in eyebrows!
  14. I have ridiculous dark circles too. Def my number one beauty challenge. Simple tricks! Love that. Regular mom - absolutely! Love your ideas. Thank you.
  15. You aren't alone. This is one of the questions I get asked most!!
  16. Aww. Thank you! And, um, I'm much more regular looking. Don't expect any Dominque Sachse level gorgeous. ;).
  17. I hadn't seen those but I am so excited. I used to watch Dominique Sachse when I lived in Texas. I had no idea she had a blog!! So fun!
  18. Yes! Something like natural options, options for different skin types, options for those with acne, options for older skin, etc. Is that what you were thinking?
  19. I love those ideas! Thank you! I do a lot of five minute makeovers a makeup for people who don't have the time or inclination to do makeup. The middle aged makeover is a brilliant idea!
  20. I know. The winged eye liner can be so tricky. And you are right, different shaped eyes make a difference. Great question. Thank you!
  21. I could really use some hive mind help. I rep for a line of naturally based makeup and skin care. I do lots of makeovers and workshops for locals but my out of town customers have asked me to start a you tube channel of different techniques, answers to common questions, etc. I've directed them to some of my favorites but they said they still want me to do one- probably cause I'm a middle aged, regular looking lady with crows feet and acne (how is that fair?) not a 20 something model like all the ladies on my fave blogs. 😄 Im not really comfortable starting one unless I have a lot of ideas for content. Would yall be willing to help me? What makeup or skin care questions would you like answered? Or what techniques would you like to learn?
  22. I stopped shopping there over a decade ago. Horrible customer service. Sorry you are having to deal with that.
  23. I made a MK person cry trying to find a lipstick that didn't look awful on me. I can turn any gorgeous lip color garish and awful!! Tried drugstore brands and expensive brands. After decades of trying everything I realized that lip stains work better for me. They seem to blend better with my lip color or something. Finally found two lip stains that I love. They stay on for hours, don't dry my lips and actually look good on me. Younique savvy and sleek.
  24. Chandon blanc de noirs is one of my favorites. Cava is fun and a great price. Roederer is also a worthwhile spend
  25. "You attract more flies with poop." My boys would love you! Not dismissing the rest of your post. Just had to share that that phrase will be with me for life
