  1. My biggest concern would be that you have some underlying health issue that is keeping the pounds on and surgery would only force your body to mask the issue rather than actually help the issue.
  2. Well my nephew never showed up for school today so with just my kids here I'm not doing anything formal. We read a chapter in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe and have played some board games to help with math skills. I'll most likely have my oldest read out loud to me later but other than that I'm calling it a day. They are relaxing with a show or 2 so I can take a nap before preparing lunch since I slept terribly last night.
  3. Creekland, hope surgery runs smoothly and recovery is quick. Tammy, it's about the same here weatherwise and right now I want to pull the covers back over my head! I've said buy to coffee until after this baby since my blood pressure has been creeping up the last few days. It's going to be a long 3 weeks! Sleep is getting harder and harder so most mornings I feel extremely exhausted and unmotivated. The next few weeks are going to be me doing the bare minimum to keep this house running. - get school done - laundry washed, folded, and away - direct kids in cleaning the mess they've created in computer room - straighten up downstairs - pay bills -finish pulling out baby clothes
  4. Is the burning interior pain or exterior. I would guess yeast infection or plain rawness.
  5. Books read so far this year: The Stand by Stephen King and After Dark by Haruki Murakami Currently reading: - Kitchen table math, about a quarter of the way through and have already started implementing their math games into our days and loving it. - History of the medieval world, first 2 chapters read. I'm enjoying it but feel like that won't last. - The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The kids and I are really enjoying this one. I love introducing them to good books! - Kaftka on the Shore. Not to far into this one so I have no opinion yet.
  6. Mass, lunch and kids getting present for youngest have been done. Birthday boy is taking a nap so I think I will too before heading to mil's for dinner and celebrating.
  7. Just learned that the only day in march that doesnt work is march 14th. We have a work event that we cant miss.Anything else is good.
  8. They get to watch TV all day if that is what they want. They usually ask me to read to them also. But sickness around here usually results in days of TV and lying in mom's bed being served food in bed.
  9. Today is my youngest's second birthday! So that will be the main focus of the day. -Mass -get all kids bathed before Mass -lunch out somewhere possibly -deposit checks - family straighten up the downstairs together -wipe down new bathroom cabinet and fill it with things that have been shoved in closet for way too long -read for an hour -prepare for school week
  10. Then be honest with them and say you'd like to stay on the committee but if meetings are going to be on Sunday you will have to back out. If they don't plan to regularly have them on Sundays then you'd happily attend the other meeting days but will not be able to attend when it's on Sunday.
  11. I would simply say you are unavailable and leave it at that. If they inquire further just respectfully decline to answer.
  12. Cleaning computer room nowish. Then I'm waiting till after the kids are in bed to deal with clothes bins. The 2 out of the house errands can wait till the morning since I decided I didn't want to leave the house today. Oh and I started our taxes. I always like doing them before Feb.
  13. Feed them in 2 separate rooms and retrain them to only eat at feeding time rather than leaving food out.
  14. Well dh cleaned the bathroom, including the tub! Which means I'm taking a warm bath tonight to relax my muscles. I have done nothing and I'm OK with that. I'll get moving at some point but for now I'll sit and enjoy my coffee
  15. I was woken up by my almost 2 year old (bday is tomorrow) trying to tell me it was breakfast time. He was very upset when I decided just to ignore him and go back to sleep so he decided to leave a bunch of toys and books all over me. 20 minutes later I was woken up to my dh bringing breakfast in bed! That is more incentive to wake up. -clean master bath (dh) -clean my bedroom -clean computer room -pull out clothing bins to go through them for baby clothes since I didn't do this last week -deposit some checks -take kids to dollar store so they can buy their youngest brother a bday gift -figure out what the rest of our plans our for the day
  16. Oh this sounds fantastic! If you wait till March you will all get to see an adorable little newborn! I'm due in the beginning of Feb, so no late January plans are being made. I'd probably leave the other kids behind since they're so little and I'd hate to be wrangling my toddler around the entire time.
  17. I'm back home and the plumber is finishing hooking up the last bathroom! I can't believe this plumbing job is almost done! It has been quite an ordeal and knowing it is almost over make me so less stressed out! Once plumber leaves I'm going to figure out in which order I'd like to tackle this house.
  18. Unortunately,my experience with stomach bugs is that you either get it or you don't. No amount of cleanliness in my house has ever kepot it from spreading beyond the first person. Luckily in my case the entire family has never all caught it. Usually at least one adult and one child remains stomach bug free or gets a very mild case. I remember one stomach bug in particular when my youngest was an infant. The other 2 kids got it first. Then I got it. I was breastfeeding while puking into a trash bin while dh got dressed for the only day of work during the year that he can't miss unless a complete emergency arises. He gets home from the work event and I'm still puking and miserable. He says, " yes my stomach hurt a bit this morning and I couldn't eat breakfast but I feel fine now." I feel like I'm dying and he gets a tiny stomach ache for an hour!
  19. Yay it's Friday! We're still at my parent's house. Dh went to let plumber in. He should be done today so we'll be heading home sometime today! - school - hang out at parent's until nephew gets picked up - head home and start to make a plan to get house back in order - send Facebook message to family about family drywall day at my house before this baby comes. I dot care if it gets painted I just want all walls back whole - figure out what's for dinner
  20. My oldest sibling was born in 1974. I was born in 1986. My dad was present for all of his children's birth except my sister who came too quickly and my brother who was an emergency csection. The other 2 csections my mom had he was present. My grandparent could not understand why he wanted to be their. His older brother had kids in the late 60s and he was not present for the deliveries.
  21. Time to get a new vet. When I worked as a vet tech the schedule was specifically kept empty during a certain time slot. This was in case of an emergency or a last minute sick visit. It was almost daily that the blocked off part of the schedule was filled with some emergency or non emergency sick animal issue.
  22. That is insane! My dad ALWAYS gives up his seat if a flight gets overbooked and they ask if anyone will give up their seat. This is because it always results in a free flight later.
  23. Talked to plumber. He should be done getting all plumbing running today and most of the fixtures hooked back up but not all of them. So we can return home tonight if we want. Part of me doesn't want to if the job isn't complete because his tools, the sinks, toilets and what not will still be all over the place. I'd rather just return home when I can just relax and enjoy the finished project. WIll discuss with dh later what he would like to do. For now, its time to get some school done
