  1. I was considering L'Oreals Voluminous. I've heard good things about that one.
  2. Super allergic to pretty much all dyes. Something like this is my daily makeup look. I'll take a look at the ZuZu.
  3. My favourite mascara has been discontinued, Maybelline One-By-One Waterproof. I have stick straight lashes that lose curl easily. I always have to use an eyelash curler. I tried Benefit's Roller Lash, because so many people love it and it's supposed to help with curl, but I hated it. It didn't curl at all and was sticky and clumpy. My typical daily makeup look is done in a 50's style, if that helps. Also I'm looking for both waterproof and washable formulas. Does anyone have any suggestions? :(
  4. It's as though you have a hidden camera somewhere in my house...exactly how my days go (minus the chickens hehe). I love, love the hotel room idea, but we are strapped for cash, so that will have to wait until I'm a bestselling author and rolling in some jk rowling style dough. ;P Seriously though, I am definitely going to try the Panera thing. I don't think our library would work, there's only one small corner with one or two tables that would work...maybe. And I kinda sorta hate my local starbucks, it's super tiny and noisy. Thanks guys! I won't feel so weird now doing this. Now to just keep from gaining 20 lbs while finishing...that is the trick.
  5. I have to finish writing my book. I'm just having trouble actually carving out time when I'm not actually going to be interrupted. DH says I should go to Panera a few times and just finish it off. Is that weird? Do people actually go and sit for hours at a time there? Other writers...how on earth do you find uninterrupted time with the kids at home and homeschooling? *Signed: Frazzled and Frustrated
  6. I was pregnant with my third and last child when my mom died. When she died, we weren't sure if I was going to miscarry or not (subchorionic hemorrhaging for the first 20 weeks). It always makes me sad that she never knew that DD was carried to full time and is now a sweet 12 year old. Not exactly on topic, but I miss my mom's voice. I can't remember what it sounds like 12 years later now. I wish I had a recording of it. :( It's very odd to me that I can't remember because we talked nearly everyday and I can still remember my dad's voice (he died 5 years ago).
  7. When my daughters were doing gymnastics we bought all of our leotards at gymdigs.com
  8. My bear slides through those greasy BBC tunnels just fine.
  9. It is a story from her past, in the forties....maybe early fifties. I should look into the Writer's Digest for myself anyways, being a writer and all, heh.
  10. My aunt is wanting to try to submit a short non-fiction story to a magazine in hopes that it will get printed. She's already tried Reader's Digest without any luck, and she's asked me for help in finding more magazines to submit it to. I don't read magazines and I'm just not having a lot of luck trying to google magazines to submit short stories to. Any ideas guys? Thanks!!
  11. Some really great suggestions here I think. Thanks! :) I know everyone keeps saying Parks and Rec, but Dh and I are the type that literally give a movie 15 min and if it's not good, we're out. And we tried The Office, both UK and US versions...and hated it. We like Last Man Standing, not sure we'd watch it over though, but we love Big Bang and that might be a good option. I think there's a lot to work with here. :D Excited! Thank you!!
  12. to watch at night before bed. We like to watch a 30 min sitcom before bed to wind down. So far we've enjoyed and finished Friends and are nearly done with How I Met Your Mother, of which we have really enjoyed also. Any suggestions for something similar? Thanks!
  13. Just about anything by Alex Band/The Calling. Jack and Diane by John Mellancamp. Wake Up Little Susie, You Can't Catch Me, Sweet Home Alabama, Wanted Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi, Today by the Smashing Pumpkins, Tonight Tonight by the Smashing Pumpkins. Yeah...I REALLY like music heh. Hope that helps. I can come up with more if he needs more ideas.
  14. I'm confused...am I missing the cheese somehow? Yeah it's been that kinda day.
  15. We haven't tried it before. Something really icks me out knowing what it is, hehe. I've never heard of Bisto gravy granules but I will definitely look for them! We eat A LOT of British foods.
  16. We're vegetarian and we've always had a Tofurky roast for every Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.
  17. Christmas Eve for us is always a finger foods kind of buffet situation; a veggie tray, a fruit tray, chips and dips, maybe some potato skins and mozzarella sticks...that kind of stuff. Christmas Day dinner is a Tofurky roast, stuffing, mashed potatoes, brown gravy, green bean casserole, macaroni and cheese, crescent rolls and assorted Christmas cookies.
  18. How decent a telescope performs is going to depend A LOT on where you live and how much light pollution you have to deal with. We deal with a lot but it could be worse. We have 5 telescopes and we purchased all of them from telescope.com...we're REALLY into astronomy. You can find some pretty decent ones in your price range there, or some really great ones if you are willing to go up to $160 or so. They also have a "sale" tab, where you can find seconds at really great discounts. 4 out of 5 of ours are from the seconds area. I hope you can find what you're looking for...our family has spent a lot of time with our scopes together and astronomy is a huge part of our life....it's great! :)
  19. Ok, thanks guys! I don't have an OB nor do I have the means to see one...so I guess I'm on my own with this one.
  20. I'm sort of confused about my last menstrual cycle and was hoping some of you might be able to help me with figuring it out. Let me start by saying I do have my tubes tied, 12 years ago, though it does run in my family to have vigilant tubes that grow back. My last period was a few days early (I'm usually VERY regular), it was as heavy, maybe slightly heavier than usual, but it was pretty short, only 4 daysish. The first day of my period I was in misery. Incredible backache, pretty crampy, chills, really bad nausea, and I felt like I had the flu...super weak. The next day I was much better, a bit weak from what happened, but much better than the day before. These are all symptoms that I've never had before, besides maybe a small amount of cramping and a mild backache. Any thoughts are appreciated.
  21. My toenails are ALWAYS painted....and the colour depends on the season. Bright pastels and beachy colours for the spring/summer and deep darker colours for the fall/winter. I am just now starting to experiment with whether or not I like my fingernails painted but I have OCD/perfectionist issues with them chipping...I really want to like it though. My oldest daughter paints her own nails and loves doing a bit of nail art...I'm not talented in that area at all. Every Saturday I paint my younger daughter's nails/toenails while we all watch old tv shows together...I Love Lucy, Brady Bunch, Leave It to Beaver and Mr. Ed. or Father Knows Best.
  22. Am going to go to Ulta and see what they can do for me I think. The only bad part is having to go out without makeup on. :/
  23. Ooooh pumpkin is a great idea! I love that one too. But, not a dingy pumpkin.
  24. If you're looking for something with more of a pop, maybe a purple (like the Monica's apartment was from Friends...that's a great colour.) If you wanted something more muted, a really creamy ivory with yellow undertones could work and would pull the dining room in.
