  1. I'd love it if you could elaborate on this. How's your house set up ideally for lots of movement? Would love to steal some of your ideas.
  2. I was a travel agent for a couple of years for a host company that focused on Disney and Sandals but covered travel to anywhere. I finally admitted to myself how much I hated it last year. I love travel, I'm a Disney nut and I thought for sure this would be a perfect fit. But everyone has access to the internet now, and you literally have multi-million dollar corporations working against you. They can afford the advertisement. You have to have a huge network of friends and family that want to travel, otherwise building a client base is incredibly difficult. It's a thankless job...you quote for people, give potential clients all kinds of information, and you never hear from them. Or you do all of this for them and then they decide to book on their own. I wanted it to work...so badly...I tried SOOO hard for two years, and it just wasn't worth the time and frustration.
  3. UPDATE: New oven has been installed and decorated appropriately with adorably cute fall magnets. Went to the dentist this AM and had the chipped tooth filled and I am now incredibly sore from the numbing shots and the yanking and pulling on my jaw, but relieved. My back is nearly completely better, though a little sore and my neck is no longer cricky. Yay me! Thanks for all the virtual hugs and encouragement guys. We're absolutely fed up (ha, no pun intended) with cold foods...so veggie burgers and French fries for dinner tonight!
  4. Awww shucks, thanks. I've been having to use the microwave for the past couple of days, which we hate...we're food snobs I guess. I hate the taste of microwave food. Your 6 year old you story sounds terrifying, you poor thing. My kids even had rolled the suitcase out into the garage with them to stuff the kitties in, just in case...they're indoor only, so I'm not sure they'd come back if they got out. The thing that scared me terribly, was that even though I had turned the oven off, the broiler element was still on, still sparking and still on fire....thank goodness for the breaker. I also discovered that it's extremely difficult to read in situations like that...you almost literally have no idea what the word stove looks like any longer. I might need to put a note by it on the breaker next to it, just in case it ever happens again.
  5. Mine is pretty much see through in areas. So, I understand. I still breakout a lot and have a bit of scarring...so I do need a good concealer as well.
  6. That is exactly what my husband said to do...and it worked! And yeah I wouldn't have thought of that in a million years either...especially in a moment like that.
  7. Oh ok yeah, that makes sense hehe. And I look for this on pinterest not youtube right?
  8. I used to love Hard Candy when I was a teenager. I'll have to see if they have shades that are light enough for me. I tried Flower foundation from Walmart and the colour and coverage were great, but it made me breakout really badly. :(
  9. I LOVE watching youtube makeup tutorials...but yeah I always seem to end up on the ones with products that cost a ton. So I'll look for some with drugstore brands and check out the ones mentioned. Lately I've really wanted to get a foundation brush...I think they're supposed to help with fuller coverage. And now I totally want to go to Sephora. I wish Ulta did something like that...I have one of those much closer to me.
  10. It was INCREDIBLY traumatic. I had my children waiting in the garage with cats in tow...ready to run, while I stood there screaming into the phone at my husband about what to do while I held the fire extinguisher at the ready. It was terrifying. I definitely need to do something to unwind. *sigh*
  11. Any thoughts on a full coverage makeup that's affordable? I have incredibly light skin and needs to be good for acne prone skin.
  12. We have a pretty bad mosquito problem where I live...they have even bitten her through pants and enjoy diving into her boots to bite her feet even. Being where I'm from, it's so hard to imagine such a spread out place.
  13. It's very possible. I found that I chipped my tooth last night right before I went to bed, so I was pretty upset with that and when I woke up this morning it was a wreck. Thanks! Awww I'm sorry. :( :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  14. Oh and my allergies are acting up, courtesy of fall, and so every time I sneeze my back freaks out....which is a lot.
  15. Thursday: My oven caught on fire and is now out of commission until we can get a replacement. Friday: I chipped a tooth. Saturday: The entire right side of my back is spazzy and the left side of my neck is all cricked. I don't want to get out of bed on Sunday. Can you blame me?
  16. Dryer sheets actually seemed to attract them to her even more, that and California Baby insect repellant....the poor thing.
  17. I've not found a repellant yet that works for my youngest...but then again we're really not comfortable using deet. She's got amazingly sensitive skin....can't even wear sunscreen.
  18. Alaska sounds like a really brilliant place to live. You guys have made it sound so lovely and have gotten me so excited about it that I'm hoping it works out now heh. Thanks for all of the info guys!! Are the mosquitoes a year round nuisance or just during a specific time period. Sounds like a stupid question I know.
  19. We bought pizza last night. :) Totally unplanned, but the oven caught on fire and was out of commission. P.S. It was the element that caught on fire of it's own accord...just for those that think I must be an awful cook. ;P
  20. Hmm, I know this might sound stupid, but is it possible to have a garden at all there? We're vegetarian, we eat A LOT of produce, and I'm super picky about it. Ethnic restaurants aren't a problem for us, dh hates them and so I make my own at home. :) The mosquitoes are really a problem huh? I was worried someone would say that. My youngest has a terrible time with mosquitoes. We spend more time outdoors in the winter than we do the summer because of it. They just really love her for some reason. We always tease her and say that if want to avoid being bitten, she's the best deterrent you could possible ask for...just stand next to her. DH is fine with a very short commute...but I do personally need to be super close to stuff and I don't like traffic. That was one of the biggest reasons why we hated living in Dallas...even though I grew up there, moving back (for the 6 incredibly long months that we were there) was miserable.
  21. One of the areas we've been looking at is near Tikahtnu Commons...North Muldoon area it looks like.
  22. I'm not sure about recording hulu or Netflix, but we have two Magnavox DVR/DVD players that we use to record from our antenna. Here it is: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Magnavox-MDR557H-F7-1TB-Hard-Drive-DVD-Recorder-with-Digital-Tuner/36246088
