THis looks fabulous! Thanks!! -
I find that Dh and I are still the owners of a house we sold in 2002. The title co. wants to send papers to amend the error. My step father said just be careful to make sure all property taxes have been paid. Would you just sign it and send it back or would you investigate...oh I don't know...would you investigate any other aspect of this? I have no intention of holding up the arrangement - I just want to make sure I take care of things properly kwim? Thanks for any thoughts on this. ALexandra

Good for your son for having read so much and good for you for having such an kind-hearted son.

Is this curriculum worth $65? It seems that one could just use a child's book of verses as material for memorization. I have not done any memorization with my children and would love some feedback. Thanks!

American History for 5th grade - suggestion needed.

I have the Joy Hakim books and they seem like too much of a good thing for my 10yob. I would like something that covers US History but doesn't take 10 volumes to do so. Thanks -
It seems more like a hobby to me. The contestants were drinking Gatorade (or something comparable) for goodness sake. I watched it and it had me cracking up - especially when they wiped their brow with a towel. I am going to absolutley go for it in 2012. You heard it hear first. Dara Torres Shmores ---the headlines are going to trumpet "Really Really Old Woman Goes for Gold....in Ping Pong." Mark my words... Alexandra

I want one that does a good job AND I can launder. I have some rag mops but they get gross fast and I hate just tossing them (the head does not detatch). I was thinking about a industrial-type mop that requires that huge yellow water bucket. It seems that the bucket would be so heavy and cumbersome. What about those Swiffer-jet thingies - are they any good? I have a large area that could use twice a week mopping btw. I would l love a recommendation! Thanks

He looks a little wide eyed and perpetually surprised these days.

there is the issue of sundowning. Alz patients suffer from "sundowning" which means that as the day wears on, they can become increasingly confused, paranoid and maybe even combative. A good nursing home will keep the resident mentally stimulated (games, outings, activities etc) to help alleviate this situation. This could also be done at home but often home help is unsupervised and will try to the minimum care (our family's experience).

Put my dd on the yellow bus this morning...

Hope that you are doing well and good luck to your little student! -
I have quite a bit and I had a radical (for me) thought. It seems that one can get about $.10-.20 on the dollar for used curriculum (right?). So I thought why not have friends over, have coffee/homeschool book sale and have my hs friends make out their checks out to the food bank. I was just thinking it wouldn't cost me much and I could help the food bank. So before I try to convince my dh of the wisdom of this could you all tell me just how much would I possibly get for my stuff if I sold it on ebay or vegsource. Is 10-20 cents on the dollar about right?

if my ds (aged 10) has never studied grammar? Will he be lost at this level? Thanks

I wonder if playing some music would help during the event. I hope an Epsom Salts bath can help prevent it to begin with though. GL Alexandra

I was wondering if any of you, after giving up caffeine have felt better? I sometime notice that I sort of feel agitated in the mornings after a acup or two and I am planning to wean myself from it over the next week or two. I was wondering if there are any WTM caffeine-free folks who would care to share. Did you, after giving up coffee, float through your day full of sweetness and light? Did you experience zen-like tranquility? I feel like that Scottish (Irish?) guy off the Simpsons...the guy who always seems to be blustering about. Thanks Alexandra

in a cooler. Taking lunch will save money and allow him to relax a little instead of going out. When my dh started working away from home, I bought a little cooler and send the same lunch everyday. He likes the same lunch. I send a huge salad with dark greens and different add-ins. The salad always has some sort of protein like hard-boiled egg or some cooked shrimp. He also gets a couple of PBJ sandwiches on WW bread. I also send either natural yogurt with fruit on top or cottage cheese with veggies on top. I also send a quart of chilled water and an apple. Dr. Fuhrmann talks about how having tons of greens is a predictor for longevity and health. Even if you don't want to do etl you could really change the amount of fruits and veggies in his diet. Good luck!

I did great until dinner but honestly what was I supposed to do with that really fabulous chicken breast dish that I served my dear family. I would love to be a 95% vegan but how?!?! I really think that is must be healthier (the book sure sounds convincing) but I have this fondness for good-tasting food. I would love to lose 20 pounds and I have decided that I need to get on the cast for "Survivor". Those folks always look pretty sleek (albeit hostile). I am in complete admiration for those who have managed this (or any) diet for more than 24 hours (which is about my limit). Alexandra
