  1. Hello to my fellow hoosiers! This is fun! I'm in the Ft Wayne area.
  2. Have you looked at Christian Kids Explore Earth & Space? I think it's designed for Gr. 3-6, so it may or may not be rigorous enough for your oldest. I haven't used it yet, but really like the way it's put together.
  3. Woohoo - so glad you found it. I SO hate spending time looking for things. I'm looking into some of those same books. I can't seem to get a handle on the paper thing....maybe this year I can do it!
  4. Happy Birthday, Nan! I hope you have a great day.
  5. I'd love to hear what your kids chores are. My dc are similar ages to yours.
  6. If you do a search for "subscribe & save", it will pull up information on the program. It looks interesting. I'll have to look through and decide if it would save me $$.
  7. I'm SO glad to hear this good news! Continued prayers for her healing and for a smooth moving process for your family.
  8. Opening up a new tab is a browser function rather than a board function. I am using Windows and Internet Explorer. I don't know how other browsers function. To open up a new tab, right click on the link. You'll get a drop down box with multiple options. Click "Open in New Tab". The page will open up in the same window, but will have a "tab" at the top that you click on the navigate the different pages you have open. It's a great way to have multiple pages open - much easier to navigate than opening up new windows. Hope that helps!
  9. This is a great idea! I'm working on my system right now, and I think I'll be incorporating these.
  10. Here's a link: Old WTM Boards. You'll still have to work through a few boards to get to the newest ones, since the links were messed up those last few days.

  12. Definitely missed you and were concerned about you! I'm glad to hear that you finally got some attention to your medical issues. I hope your recovery is quick. Take care of yourself!
  13. To make it easier, you can open up the forum you want to read in a new tab, then refresh occasionally to keep it current. When you open up threads, either open up in a new tab or click on the back button after you've read them to back to the forum. This will keep you in the same display mode.
  14. I *think* this will do what you're looking for, but I'm not completely sure. Down at the bottom there is a "Display Options" box. In the "Sorted by" drop down meny, choose "Thread start times", then click "show threads". You have to do this every time you go into a new forum.
  15. I would love to have a recipe forum. The Well trained recipe site has been great to fill in that gap, but it would be much easier to find & add recipes if it was all on this site. Great idea!
  16. Hi! Good to see you made it over here. There's a General Forum Usage guide under Board Rules/FAQ's. Perhaps that will give you a place to start?
  17. Congratulations! I'm so glad you found a house that will work and hope your moves goes smoothly.
  18. Robin, I'm not sure if I'm understanding what you're saying here, but you can have three letter words in a search, but you can't have only one word with less than three letters. So, for example, you can search for "rod and staff", or "r&s english", but you can't search for just "r&s".
  19. I tried the hybrid mode, but something weird I found is sometimes all of the posts don't show in the linear part. I can't figure out exactly how that works.
  20. Honestly? This forum format really works best with the linear mode. It is an adjustment, but with some time and familiarity you may find it's much easier to follow. The best way in this format to reply to a person is to quote their post. Then it's obvious that you're responding to them, regardless of which view you choose.
  21. I'm so sad....I really wanted the Packers to go to the Super Bowl. Bummer.:(
  22. You can also go to your User Control Panel, click on Edit Options, and there is a Thread Display Mode spot where you can choose the way all threads are displayed.
  23. Okay, now I've really figured this out. If you hit the "Post reply" button, you post will go under the last person's post on the threaded view. If you want your post to go under a particular person's post (in the threaded view), then you need to hit one of the quick reply buttons on the bottom right corner of their post (quote or quick reply). If you do that, then your reply will show up under that particular post in the threaded view. Learning new things all the time here!
