I'm back. We churched. Second service. Good sermon on integrity. The sermon series has been on the Sermon on the Mount.
I took oldest DS out to lunch. He's my difficult child. My really really difficult child. We had a very difficult weekend. But I decided that as much as I fail in so many ways in trying to parent him (which is next to impossible) I am also determined to work on having a good relationship with him. So, I decided that no boy could turn down a burger and fries and I took him to Jack in the Box. And we had a nice lunch. Just chit chat about what he was looking forward to in high school, where the rest of his classmates were going to high school. (His Catholic school only goes up to 8th grade 😟, so the kids kind of scatter- most go to public school, a few go to the charter school, some go to the Christian school DS will be attending. There is a big Catholic High School in the Big City and they do have a van that picks kids up in our small town, but it's expensive and academically more challenging that where DS will be going), what sports he wanted to play next year, etc. So, it was a good time.
