  1. These are advertised to be on Disney+ but here in the USA they are on HULU (a Disney sub-unit). It is not 'false advertising' as these are international ads and in many countries they are actually on 'Disney +' . I do not use dubbing-- but I can agree that the subtitle translations are not great-- and this is coming from my very limited understanding of Korean. I think I like K-dramas (other than story lines and aesthetics) because I'm very ADD/ADHD and I get to SEE, READ and HEAR at the same time. When subtitles throw a poor translation it is like a note being out of tune in my brain!
  2. All of the one I've seen advertised for Disney+ have been on HULU instead (in USA). I just added HULU to our Disney+ account so I could watch a few dramas that were not on other platforms-- I did a free trial this past summer to watch Dr Romantic 2 and 3! I will probably keep HULU for a month or two as Viki and Netflix have more of what I watch. -- I've started First Responders (Hulu)-- it is good but pretty intense (crime scenes and crimes in progress...). After a few episodes I switched to watch something on the lighter side-- this time I'm re-re-watching My Roomate is a Gumhio (Viki).
  3. I have had LOTS of medical tests this past year or so-- some of my last tests were at a hospital-- ZERO appointment reminders for those-- just told to enter near the ER and let them know I was there...
  4. What part of the expression is tripping her up? Can she factor trinomials easily/accurately? Does she know the difference between terms and factors? (this is a big stumbling block for students).
  5. If your heart rate is currently back to normal I would still put a call into your Dr/Cardiologist since you mentioned tachycardia--you may have developed something like 'sick-sinus-rhythm' or Brady-tachycardia. While this is considered rare, I developed this last year... when my heart rate dropped into the 30-40 I was OUT OF IT-- like slurred speak, headache, and trouble concentrating... actually any heart rate below 60 makes me fee off... My heart rate drops more at night-- but really anytime I'm sitting relatively still for more than a few minutes it drops. It is also concerning since you mentioned being on medication to lower your heart rate... I ended up with a pacemaker a few months ago-- I still have the tachycardia and some minor chest pains daily, but I'm much better off since I cannot drop below 60. Currently my pacemaker is 'firing' about 50% of the time... I also have psoriatic arthritis and 'sick sinus rhythm' is not uncommon with this or rheumatory arthritis. Unfortunately there are not meds available to raise your heart rate (except for in extreme emergencies)-- but my pacemaker gave me my life back.
  6. I just watched a cute K-drama on Viki: Casting a Spell to You (title explained in the last scene of show...). Sure-- it was fairly predictable-- but it kept my interest.
  7. Just thinking-- did 'airplane mode' get turned on?
  8. I finished Perfect Marriage Revenge (Viki). Overall I liked it-- it had lots of twists (almost too many!). There were a few slow points and I'm very glad they did not try to draw this out and stopped at 12 episodes. I almost didn't make it through the first episode. There are a few triggers-- child abuse/memories of child abuse... Also being blinded by revenge OK for some characters but not for others.
  9. Reporting back about Welcome to Samdal-ri Ending was fine-- I guess it was satisfying (they did not totally ruin it). I still liked the show-- but what is it about this type of ending that is so common-- I call it a selfish ending... but I'm open for discussion-- again the ending was fine and you could say that it was a HAPPY ENDING.... I'm trying to finish the last 2 episodes of My Demon-- I just keep falling asleep... (but I watch this one after the little guy is in bed).
  10. I would go with a pediatric gyn (specialist). I would also test for Ehlers Danlos too. My middle dd has Ehlers Danlos and has had problems with ovarian cysts most of her life (PCOS)... she was 'ignored' as a pre-teen and not taken seriously until she was over 18 and started seeing an adult gyn.
  11. YEA! I'll finish it tomorrow (Sunday). I'm almost finished with Welcome to Samdal-ri. It has a Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha vibe but different storyline twists...I like Ji Chang-wook -- it was nice to see him so comfortable in a rom-com (he does mostly action dramas)...so this one is a KEEPER (as long as they do not trash the ending!).
  12. Our experience...it may be a bit different because there were injuries... DH, along with 7 teenage girl passengers, were rear-ended at high speed. Our Suburban was totaled-- one girl broke her back (life-time pain but has mobility) and 2 girls had very serious concussions (one of them my middle dd). DH and our oldest daughter had neck problems for a few months-- one other girl had extensive bruising due to lap belt (middle seat) while other 2 girls had no injuries. Driver of car that hit him was texting at the time. Her insurance started hounding us that day to settle (Texas is a no-fault state). Most of their "settling" was claiming 50% liability-- agent said if we did not take it they would string things out for years (State Farm). We had USAA at the time. USAA gave us a few thousand right away --not enough to cover the actual value of our Suburban--but it was enough to help us get a used car ASAP. Our health insurance paid for the hospital bills minus deductible. (Other girls also used their family's health insurance). We ended up needing to get a lawyer. FIL had a good buddy who was a famous trial lawyer-- he took our case only because of that friendship. Just using the lawyer's name had State Farm leaving us alone! Sure-- USAA would have 'helped' but only to get their money back and it still would have taken years because State Farm and USAA were not on great terms at the time... BTW each girl had to sue separately. All in all it took 2 years to get settled after a few court dates... payout was 1 year after that! We were told that this was normal... Our health insurance was reimbursed during the settlement (they had to sue State Farm). It was a MESS. Hopefully OP will have better luck getting the insurance companies to cooperate...personally, I would not wait too much longer before hiring a lawyer.
  13. I was also impressed with Song Kang-- ignoring Neverthelss--I've liked his acting (not bad looking either!) He lost 10-20 pounds for this role so he looks quite different (more sculpted). The premise-- for Good Day to be a Dog was actually fine-- there were lots of 'cute moments'-- but just not enough developed story to carry drama for 16 episodes-- even 8 would be too many-- would have been better as movie (and even that could have contained the side story lines fully!). Cha Eun-woo is more involved in MODELING-- he is one of the top (if not the top) male models in the world right now... Astro (his K-pop group) really has not done anything since the death of Moonbin last year. He is loosing his 'boy next door' looks (at almost 27 yrs old)-- especially if he slicks his hair back-- so he is (hopefully) destined for more mature roles based on natural aging.. Alchemy is what my friends and family consider to be the 'Lord of the Rings' of K-dramas-- it is fantasy (not a period piece but costumes are period-like)... While it is LONG-- it is so worth it!!
  14. I'm watching this one too! Parts of it creeps me out a bit-- but I know some of that is stuff lost in translation and me not being versed in Korean mythology (demon/devil/god). I've heard it is supposed to have a good ending (or at least satisfying instead of frustrating or sad). I totally enjoyed going back and re-re-watching Alchemy of Souls... LOVE that one-- it is EPIC! -- I tried to enjoy Good Day to be a Dog -- but it would have been better off as a movie-- Episode 0 pretty much does that-- it covers ALL of the major scenes and story lines in 1 hour (do not watch if you are planning on watching the whole series). Every episode started with a 5-10 minute REVIEW of previous episodes-- Every episode ended with a 5-10 minute REVIEW AND SPOILERS for upcoming episodes. Every episode had multiple 'reflection' scenes that replayed previous scenes already covered in the intro review... so LOTS of fast-forwarding to eek my way through... I'd love to see Cha Eun-woo in a meatier role-- he seems to be stuck playing the same clueless clean-cut guy (Island was a bit different but I lost interest in that Drama and never finished it).
  15. A solar charger for phones and such would be great to have in case the power goes out-- you may not be able to relocate for a while if you have blizzard conditions... have extra blankets and extra warm clothes handy.
  16. My SIL was 59. She was healthy until 2 weeks ago when she caught the flu. She passed it on to my diabetic brother who ended up in the hospital for a few days over Christmas. After he came home she started feeling ill again. She was taken to a hospital on Thursday but they told her to go home as it was 'just the flu'... Last night my brother took her back to the hospital (small local one)... They waited several hours because of a Dr 'shift change' then transferred her to a big city hospital. By the time she got there she was in septic shock. She passed a few hours later. I've been walking around in a daze today-- now I'm on my way out-of-state to attend her memorial service and family gatherings. SIL was a homeschool mom for a few years...a few of her grandchildren are being homeschooled too... For those of you who know me-- she and my brother were in a traumatic motor-cycle accident a year ago... my brother has been through so much.
  17. I'm in my Happy Place this week--I'm re-watching Alchemy of the Souls... I'm almost finished with part 2! This one is SOOO good-- not a 'period' piece-- it is fantasy but costumes are more of the period style...
  18. Fusion was LIFE ENABLING! Sure-- I have a little trouble bending over to tie my shoes-- but I can do it if I prop my foot up. That is really the only limitation-- my fusion was L4-L5 Fusion gave me my life back. One word of caution about waiting too long like I did. I was having horrible pain AND headaches the months before my surgery. Even though recent MRI scans did not show anything other than the degenerated disks, I had a BONE SPUR that was actually poking into my spinal cord-- I was leaking spinal fluid. Dr said if I had waited much longer I would have been permanently paralyzed! I did do my research on HOW the surgery would be performed-- some Drs enter through the back-- this type permanently weakens back muscles. I chose through the abdomen-- a GS came in and did the initial incision (Like hysterectomy) and moved the organs to the side, exposing the spine. Another option would be to go in through left or right side and do similar. It took 3-4 weeks to recover from the incision/organ moving-- but after that I was good to go. I only had hard pain drugs the first three days and regular ibuprofen after that. My core was weak before surgery (because I could not move!) so my total recovery was 6 months in a soft brace then 6 months of PT-- but the PAIN WAS GONE!
  19. I dropped it but a few more episodes further than you-- wish I would not have wasted my time. "Friends with benefits" was the theme the whole time. No it does not get better-- from what I've heard the end is so-so too.
  20. YES! I wish I would not have waited to have my surgery-- I missed out on so much.
  21. I went through a VERY similar ordeal that ended up being my L4/L5. In my case I bent over wrong picking up a baby blanket! I waited it out for a few years but ended up getting a spinal fusion (going in through front not back) after trying steroids and tons of PT. I IMMEDIATELY felt relief as soon as I woke up in the recovery room! I wish I would have done the surgery YEARS EARLIER! Due to insurance rules- the Dr's cant really tell you your best option-- they can give you ALL of the options and it is up to you to decide the one to take. Once I made up my mind to go for the fusion my Dr said he was relieved as that is what he wanted to do YEARS before but was not allowed by regulations to steer me in that direction. Once disks start to deteriorate they DO NOT REGENERATE/HEAL. Disks do not settle down-- inflammation (if that is part of issue) may calm down and you can get used to the pain (so it may seem less but you are just stronger mentally to push through it). My spine Dr also had me interview 2 other spine Drs so I could compare their treatment options and surgical styles. Trimming/digging has a much higher rate of additional surgeries so I chose fusion. My Dr's rate of additional surgeries was very very low so I stayed with him. Healing was much like a hysterectomy or a C-section. Once my tummy healed I was good to go. I did have bending and lifting restrictions for a few months. It has been 14 years and still no back related sciatica pain!
  22. Bloodhounds is one of my 2023 favorites-- I totally agree that it was violent/intense at times but I absolutely loved the bromance! I have some knitting/crocheting to do this week so I put on a favorite-- Business Proposal! This will be my 3rd time on this one... so it is easy to have on in the background and still keep up with the story line-- "Samantha and Rachel" still cracked me up and I knew it was coming... I'm desperately trying to not start some of the awesome-looking ones that are in progress-- I'm a binge watcher!
  23. I agree about Twinkling Watermelon-- they just left a few story lines up in the air (not too uncommon for k-dramas though-- and if you think about it most USA dramas just 'end' by not returning for next season-- very very few are wrapped up nicely. I also need to look for a play list for this one.
  24. I just finished Castaway Diva (Park Eun-bin from Attorney Woo)-- had trauma scenes (child abuse) but solid story line and satisfying ending. I'm holding off on the newer ones-- I prefer to binge-- hate waiting a week for next episode (I'm spoiled).
  25. Hi BFF!!! Don't worry-- I'll get you hooked on K-dramas. I've watched a few of the K-games like 'The Devil's Plan'-- that was TOUGH DH and I are also watching the American version of the (non lethal!) Squid Games.
