  1. No advice but their curriculum packages look so tempting. I've wanted to try one for a few years now. :tongue_smilie: I'm happy with what we are using though, but it's all looks so pretty.
  2. We just completed or almost completed, (still need to do science) a day of Bigger and it was great! I can't wait for tomorrow =) We started using HOD in Jan. and so far love it. Most of my children, 5 out of 6 will use HOD this year. Last year we completed 75% of Beyond and Preparing. Both were very good and I look forward to using them again when the time comes. Blessings, Linda<><
  3. Nope, they are usually super fast but I've never ordered this late from them before. Like the others mentioned, I think it that time of year. MUS is usually super fast too but once I ordered in June and it took forever. Weeks. I called and they said, "Oh, you don't normally order in the summer":D
  4. I miss joining in on these threads =) I'm still waiting to order my stuff :w00t:.
  5. I have a struggling math student and he's using Math Essentials Book two w/Dvds. It starts off pretty basic (which is a good thing). The author Mr. Fisher recommend the child also complete the Geometry and Problems Solving book before using the Pre-Algebra. I was able to review this item over the summer and really liked it. I'm continuing it with Joshua and will have Brent my younger son use it too.
  6. My 5th will use: Heart of Dakota CtC for Bible, History, Copywork, Dictation, Writing, Geography, and Art. Writing~Write with the Best via HOD Math~Math Essentials Book 1 PE~Family Time Fitness (Homeschool version) English~Rod and Staff 4 Literature~Drawn into the Heart of Reading (I'm going to try and fit this in) That's about it, I look forward to reading what you all are using =)
  7. My ds will use: Heart of Dakota CtC for Bible, History, Dictation, Copywork, Art, and Writing. Literature~Drawn into the Heart of Reading (if I can fit it in) Math~Math-U-See Zeta English~Rod and Staff 4 Physical Education~Family Time Fitness (homeschool edition)
  8. My dd will use: Heart of Dakota~Res. to Ref. This includes Bible, History, Science, Dictation, Copywork, Shakespeare Study, Art, and Writing. English~Rod and Staff English 6 Physical Education~Family Time Fitness Literature~Lightning Literature 7 Latin~Latin Road Logic~from Critical Thinking, can't remember the name, but she requested to use them. I think it was Mind Benders :D Math~MUS~Zeta I think that's about it :)
  9. I know you mentioned both history and literature together but just thought I'd mention Lightning Literature. My dd who will be in 7th grade or I guess is a 7th grader now :001_huh: will use it once we start school. Have you looked at My Father's World or Heart of Dakota? Those both provide history/literature. Easy Classical is another and America the Beautiful from Notgrass. Again, dd us using HOD but not DITHOR since we have Lightning Literature. Blessings, Linda<><
  10. I would like to use Latin Road with my 14 year old ds but he still has trouble with grammar. Would this be too hard for him? He would use it with his younget 13 yr. old sister with me teaching it. Another question, would they be able to watch the DVD with me and hopefully do the workbook pages without me? I'm trying to figure out how to teach 6 children, 4 are struggling readers, so I'm needed a lot :tongue_smilie:
  11. With Ethan who will start Bigger in Sept. I decided to use Standard Based Grammar 3. There is also a Homeschool Edition too. Standards Based Grammar Homeschool Edition.I went with the 3rd grade one because Ethan hasn't really had any grammar yet. There is no diagramming though but I don't want to start that with him right now. If you want diagramming Gowing with Grammar had Digging Into Diagramming. Another option would be to use a higher level of R&S.
  12. I can't wait to join. Still three weeks before our homeschool starts :( I haven't ordered our stuff yet:ack2: it's been crazy. I look forward to reading your Weekly Wrap-ups though.:D
  13. Nope, with that being said, I do add things as I'm a part of the Schoolhouse Review Crew. For instance, when I was reviewing a Bible program, I stopped using HOD's Bible portion/box. If it wasn't for the reviews I wouldn't add a thing. Preparing is pretty full. Before I was a reviewing I did use it as is (although I did add AAS because my boys are late readers and I wanted to make sure they had extra learning in that area)
  14. I viewed them but it was five years ago. I have also used a few other programs that spring from IEW, so I'm really hoping that will be enough. I have some of his cds or mp3 and such.
  15. I am interested in using some of IEW's history and/or themed based writing programs this fall. I'm wondering if I can without purchasing the Teaching Writing: Structure Style set. I have owned the Structure and Style program in the past and I really don't want to purchase them again. I know some-what about IEW style. I understand adding -ly words, dress-ups, keyword outlining and rewriting/telling from the KWO, banned words etc. Would you attempt to use IEW's other products if not interested in the DVDs? Has anyone used some of their themed based programs this way?
  16. Week 27. It's a week with pictures. Can't seem to get back into blogging these days. Have a great weekend!
  17. We enjoyed our WP years (AW, AS1 and CAtW) but are happy with what we are using now. Love the Ebooks though. My soon-to-be 9th grader wants to use Human Body and Forensics (not an ebook option), so as of today, it's what he'll use next year.
  18. Something new for science from WP Dinosaur Days, a new science program for Grades 2-5. I'ts not out yet, but I'm interested in this for my boys.
  19. I've used Animal and Their Worlds, AS1, CAtW and purchased the preschool programs. The preschool programs I didn't use though. I enjoyed my WP years.
  20. Same here, I'm happy with HOD. I'm sure I'll be tempted though once the WP site is revamped;).
  21. It looks like in the future they may. Timeline and mapping resources, math, science programs, chess, as well as language arts for young learners and grades 7 and up are not available in an ebook format at this time. We will continue to add more ebook collections in the future. I think this is a great step forward for the company.
  22. WinterPromise is going to have some E-book programs for tablets and laptops.
  23. 36 week. By this I mean we hit the books and do all subjects (most days :D). Once we hit the 36th week it feels finished :). I like having a beginning and ending date. We also school through the summer but with a much lighter load. Not all subjects everyday.
