  1. We just purchased dd a violin and we want to put insurance on it, in case of damage, theft, or lost. I called our Home Owners Insurance and they were no help. He basically said that he could cover it in case dd loses it...not damaged. Dh says to call around, but I am not sure who to call...other insurance companies or is there a specific insurance company that I need to call? We don't want to change home owner insurance and I am sure we will be asked that.
  2. I see a few problems solved on the later lessons in 1-30, but the first ones don't seem to have an answer key. Am I overlooking it??
  3. Does this program have an answer key? I do not have time to work out--if needed every problem to see if dd is correct.
  4. Dd is having a tough time on some math problems. Such as simplify, factorization and a few other problems. I would like to find some worksheets for her to do. Does anyone have any idea where I can find these..even if it is a workbook. She is using Chalkdust basic math,by the way
  5. treadmill and it didn't work. I don't like walking/running on the treadmill. I have been trying to get dh to go with me this week, so I would be motivated, but he won't go! He likes the treadmill. I can not jog for very long at all, so I am not sure if I am doing the program right. I have been thinking of posting on our neighborhood board to see if I can get a buddy to do this with. I am scared to run/walk by myself so early in the morning. I want to get a can of mace or pepper spray.
  6. How did you go about starting jogging? I want to jog, but can only go a few minutes. Am I doing something wrong? How long before you were jogging your whole route? Do you jog alone? If so do you take pepper spray or mace? I am a little nervous about jogging alone. The best time for me to go is early in the morning between 5:30-6:30. I don't want to take our dog, she seems to have a problem walking the neighborhood--wants to poop(seriously) and pee everywhere! I have tried for the past 2 mornings to get dh to go with me, but he just can't get up that early and then head to work, so he walks/jogs on the treadmill in the evening. I don't like the treadmill. Any suggestions? Also, what do you wear during the colder months?
  7. We have a pin size leak somewhere in our unit. They told me it would be cheaper to wait until the leak got bigger, due to the fact that trying to find something so small will cost a LOT! We decided to wait. The company added 1lb of freon. So far no problems this year. If this was happening to me, I would turn off my units, open the windows and use fans until they came out to look at the unit. I wouldn't be paying the electric company more than I had to!
  8. used 2nd to 7th grade. I plan on finishing with the 9/10 books.
  9. being used ALL year??? We have a math book that is soft covered. I know it's not going to look as nice at the end of the year.
  10. Dd will be working in Chalkdust Basic Math. I am trying to figure out how long I should have her work 30, 45, or 60mins a day? She is not a math person, so I know it's going to take her a while to do the problems..hoping I'll be wrong! I plan on her only working on the odd problems.
  11. We are starting back on August 3rd and I would like to find out when the sales start. Most of the schools here start back on the 10th.
  12. I am thinking about selling our set. We NEVER use them. The kids either get their information from library books or the internet. I know at least 15+yrs old. They are just taking up space that I could definitely use. What what would you do with them???
  13. We will be in the car 2 days a week. Ds and Dd will have a number of books and dvd's. What do you use to hold your books so they aren't sliding all around the car? I have tried book bags, but they have to take everything out or they forget to zip the bag and the books fall out. Also they will have quite a number of books with them. I can't use a milk crate because we have a small car and it would be packed. Any thoughts????
  14. Thanks! I will have to look for the Annies. where do you find it?
  15. Trying to figure out some vegetarian lunch ideas for dd. She will be at a day camp all next week. She and I just started eating lacto-vegetarian about 2 months ago and we are still trying to figure out good lunch meals. She loves most veggies, except avocados and tomatoes So far I am thinking of packing cheese and crackers, yogurt, some raw veggies and fruit. Nuts and peanut butter crackers for snack I know she is going to be tired of eating the same things all week long. any ideas? Thanks!
  16. We make a pasta that has parmesan cheese, olives, cherry tomatoes, and then you put italian dressing on it. It's good either cold or hot. I have an electric kettle that I got from Walmart. Boil some water and have oatmeal, grits or even cup-a-noodle soup. I am sure you could even heat up soup in a can with the boiling water. Sandwiches with chips Spaghetti is good cold. Salads with chicken or sliced beef cereal, bagels, croissants, fruit I would hit Costco or Sams(we prefer Sam's) for their pizza...very cheap and good. If you go on the weekends they have samples. My kids love going and normally they are full by the time we leave.

  18. I purchased her a pair of funky socks--she likes socks and a car emergency kit. She has an old car, so when I saw it I thought it would be a good gift.
  19. Ds's girlfriend is graduating tomorrow night. I refuse to give her money. I know I shouldn't think of how she will spend it, but she does NOT spend her money wisely and then complains about not having any money!!! Dh works hard for our family and I don't want to give $$ to someone that is unappreciative of it! What would you give?? OH...she doesn't wear jewelry or anything to girly...no purses, perfumes or anything like that
  20. Dd is attending a half day(12:30-4:30) camp this week and she said that she is getting dizzy and feels like she is going to pass out. The camp is outside, but they do have shade and a tent, water and snacks that they can eat when they want. She hasn't been wanted to eat the snacks, because she had eaten lunch right before camp. I thinking she needs to eat smaller meals and eat more often. I spoke with the director of the camp and asked him if it would be ok for dd to bring a snack to munch on every hour or so. He mentioned that almonds were very good for raising blood sugar. I am really concerned about this for two reasons; one- I need to keep items on hand for her and two- she is going to a day camp in 2 wks that is from 9-4 and she will be outside all day long. It will definitely be hotter then! She is use to playing outside, but she is normally at home where she can come in to cool off. Not sure if this is helpful but, I have a history of passing out and it started when I was 6. She has never passed out, though. Also, she has been eating vegetarian for about a month. What would you suggest her eating?
  21. A long time ago, I found someone that had an index card schedule for their kids. I thought I had saved it but can't find it now. Would anyone know of the site? It did have pictures and info on how to go about doing it. Thanks
  22. I'm looking for veggie wrap recipes. What is your favorite? Also, if you use hummus, is there a substitute for that? I have tried hummus and didn't care for it.
