  1. Thank you for your review. I was just concerned about the young earth content. So the cards can easily be used if you are old earth?
  2. I have not read any of her books, really don't have any interest in them. There are so many great books by so many great authors, I guess I just never could understand what makes this author stand out so much over any others.
  3. Of course I have, but the moments of doubt have always somehow strengthened my faith and brought me closer to God! :001_smile: I have come to a point in my life now where no matter what happens, I am still able to be thankful to God for what He has done/is doing in my life. This does not mean I am never sad/depressed/angry/in a bad mood about something. I am always confident knowing God has a plan and things will work out, maybe not the way I intend them to in my own mind, but according to His will. :001_smile:
  4. Can these easily be used by a Christian family that is not YEC? I almost bought them, and decided I better ask. Thanks :)
  5. I agree with Calming Tea. I used Adventures in Phonics with both girls, and it is a solid program. The price is right too. :001_smile:
  6. It's been a tough decision, but we have decided to go desktop. I think it's the best option for the kids. I still have my laptop, and can now keep it to myself. :D
  7. I am not familiar with these, I will have to check them out. Thanks. :)
  8. Thanks! This is just what I was thinking - about all the freedom we would have with laptops over the desktop. I just wasn't sure if there was a good reason to keep a desktop in the house. I'm definitely leaning toward laptop. :)
  9. Our desktop crashed. :glare: We have one laptop, and our house is small. Since we have limited space, I thought maybe we would just invest in a second laptop. Before we do that, I'm wondering if there is a good reason why we should go with a desktop instead. Should we replace our old computer with another desktop, or should we go with a 2nd laptop?
  10. :bigear: Everytime I turn around, "Mom, can I have a snack?" We don't keep groceries around too long either.
  11.:lol::lol: I would jump for joy at the thought of NO MORE PERIODS, and know what it feels like to get through a month without the hormonal ups and downs of womanhood. I often wonder how long a man could last dealing with all we women do.
  12. We love it! You can get a discount through HSBC. :)
  13. I have tried several, and like Zaner-Bloser best. :)
  14. I am looking at this for my 2nd grader. What do you like/dislike about this book? Do you use the activity book with it?
  15. HS Buyers Co-op has a good deal on these, and I was wondering if they are worth it. Anyone have the set? What do you think of them? Thanks! :)
  16. We are using SOTW for grades 5-8, and I think the series is perfect for the middle grades. We also supplement with reading from Biblioplan.
  17. We are getting ready to start our 4th year with TT, dd loves it and her standardized test scores have been very good.
  18. I thought about doing it this way, I have also thought about spending two weeks on WWS, then two on Creative Writer, etc... Or two weeks of WWS, one week CW. I thought it might mix things up a bit, and give her a break from WWS from time to time so she doesn't get too frustrated with it.
  19. I started WWS with dd in the spring. She is a reluctant writer, so we plan to move through it at a slower pace. I was also curious about The Creative Writer, so I just purchased a copy. I think dd will enjoy the creative writing aspect, but WWS might be a challenge for her. I thought about alternating the two throughout the school year. Has anyone tried this? If so, how has it worked for you?
