  1. @HomeAgain, we LOVE Disney. That sounds like such a fun idea. If we ever get to go back with the kids, I might steal that and do something like it. @math teacher, rice pudding was one of my favorite desserts before I had to go off dairy, and I miss it! I should play around more with making it non-dairy, but most things never seem as good to me. 2 classes down and 2 to go.
  2. I slept in, and my first class has already met. Three more to go today. After my classes, I hope dh and I will play some games since he is off today. bible study/devotion 4 Zoom sessions tidy house meals play games school prep for tomorrow and some for Wednesday watch something and relax
  3. I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner, but I will pray for you, your family, and the extended family!
  4. Dinner was grilled chicken from Costco and a salad kit. I ate a bit of chocolate for dessert. I did some $$ data entry. I'm ready for tomorrow.
  5. Praying for all of you!!!
  6. Congratulations!!! That looked amazing!
  7. I met ds and gave him his stuff. He is rushing a fraternity this week and will have the induction weekend starting Thursday night. This is at a Christian college, so I know it won't be the same as a regular university. I'm most concerned about it being stuff outside because we are fairly sure he has Reynaud's. He told me he already talked to the guys about his problem, and they would make accommodations for him. I gave him a huge pack of hand warmers for Christmas, so surely he can use those. I got groceries on the way home. I just tried some goat cheese brie I was given for Christmas, and it was horrible.
  8. Dh said he and a friend were just talking about that scene a couple of days ago. He said both that show and Better Call Saul have some of the best acting he has ever seen.
  9. Dh and I played Raiders of the North Sea, and he crushed me. Ds is over at dd's gf's house, and I'm going to meet him with some of that winter stuff he left here.
  10. Dd will be the one out driving, and she has a small Nissan Kicks. She's a nurse, so her job doesn't get called off. At least ds will be on campus. He doesn't have classes for the holiday, and classes would probably be canceled for Tuesday if it stays around. The school has a lot of commuters.
  11. I asked dh, and he said Rhea Seehorn has a scene on a tram in Better Call Saul that was truly transcendent. I think I would need to think on it a bit, but the first thing that comes to mind is Liam Neeson at the end of Schindler's List. I haven't watched it in a long time, so I'm not sure if it was the acting or the topic that touched me the most.
  12. I keep watching the weather forecasts for us and for the kids (dd lives in Chattanooga and ds is on campus at Lee, so both in southern TN). They both have predictions of 4 inches of snow tomorrow. They (nor me) are used to driving in weather like that. Dd doesn't work tomorrow, but she planned to be at her gf's house down this way. She does work on Tuesday. Sometimes I wish they were still small and under our roof. I love them being grown in many ways, but I'd be fine with us all under one roof or even a compound of houses together.
  13. Good morning! I woke up at 6:15, but I did sleep all the way through the night and woke rested. I tried to go back to sleep, to no avail, because I didn't have to be up then. I'm having coffee now, and dh and I are debating the driving and attending church situation with me being asked to work in a kid's class this morning. get ready to go out help in Kindergarten class come home if dh goes ahead and attends the early service or stay if he decides to come to later one (the debate) meals schoolwork (my 4 math classes meet online tomorrow) ds will be at dd's gf house for D&D this afternoon, so take some winter stuff he left here (heaviest coat and some hand warmers I bought him) grocery shopping while I'm out doing that get dh to play a game or two watch something and relax
  14. We made last-minute plans to pick up some food and go have dinner with dd and her gf. Then we played some games. Dd's gf lives about 25 minutes from us, so it's nice to be able to spend some time with them. They asked me to work in the Kindergarten class in the early service tomorrow, so I'll be up early to go do that. Dh will come later for us to attend the late service together. I have a haircut appointment on Tuesday morning. We have rain in the forecast for Monday, and then the temps get colder. They aren't supposed to be above freezing before my appointment, so I'm contemplating rescheduling it. I don't know if the roads will be icy. It is a busy 4-lane highway all the way, so it could be well-driven and fine.
  15. @LifeLovePassion, I pray they can get the dizziness figured out and stopped!! @mommyoffive and @history-fan, I'm so sorry you will have such extreme cold!! I can't even imagine. We are looking at lows in the low teens but I don't know if we'll have winds with it to make it colder. I went to prayer at church and helped pack the Saturday Sacks for this semester. My friend and I went to lunch and to an antique store. When I got home, the guys were about done working on the gutters. We hope that the water issue affecting our doors will be better now. Rain is forecasted for Monday, so we'll see. I need to assess our food situation for next week, so meal planning and grocery shopping is up next.
  16. @TheReader, praying you feel better soon! I started Echo. I know this is an action show, but I’m a little frustrated that so many female characters now have to be tough and basically be Jason Bourne. This show has her training her whole life, but not every show I’ve seen lately is like that. Even skinny ones with little training can take down skilled assassins. It just seems like they are saying for a woman to be fulfilled and successful, she must be like a man. Isn’t that the opposite of what feminists should want?
  17. I love data entry(if it's on paper). LOL! I set up a 13-columnar pad for my system, so everything is data entry. I'm only doing it with our checking account right now. I want to get a handle on how I use my system and make tweaks to it. I took a long nap! I think I might watch the first episode of Echo on Hulu. Part of the show is filmed in our old hometown. A good bit of The Walking Dead is filmed there, too. The first season of Stranger Things had a lot of filming in a town near there.
  18. I looked through our board games and pulled out a few with a solo mode. I'll play those later. I took care of the financial stuff. I am loving my new set-up, so I'm very thankful you started that YNAB thread, @ScoutTN. I don't love digital stuff because I prefer working on paper. I've never been great at budgeting, though. I just keep up with what comes in and what goes out. Reading through some of that thread and watching the initial intro video to YNAB inspired me to do more. I worked on some ideas for a student. I have a student with a lot of anxiety, and Algebra 2 is causing him even more of it. He watches the videos of my class (has too much anxiety to be in the live Zoom class) and works on his own. He comes to my house once a week to go over his work and ask questions. I think I've come up with a good plan. I'm taking him out of the class, and I'll be teaching him all of it in person. He'll stay longer and do a good bit of his homework here with my supervision. I started on the homework that is due. I watched an episode of Victoria. I'm in the third season, so there isn't much left of it.
  19. Good morning! My sleep was a bit erratic, but I did sleep in later than usual. We have high winds now and rain coming, so I'm staying home today. Dh has school and basketball games, so he won't be home until closer to 9 tonight. bible study/devotion meals for myself school work (look over lesson plans I have finished and do some others; grading) tidy house pay bills/update my new paper version YNAB decide something to organize look through our board games and find a couple to play solo mode find a new series to watch anything else that comes to mind
  20. It's a graphic organizer you can use for literary analysis. Here it is. I might as well link it since it's out there anyway! LOL!
  21. We had a great time tonight! I'm so glad these ladies have continued coming. I started a ladies' game night through the Arts Council about 1.5 years ago. The same ladies kept coming each time, so I moved it to my house and a private Facebook group. It's been great to get together for some fun! I drank a Coke Zero this afternoon and evening, so I'll be up late. I don't usually have any caffeine, and a little will make a difference. Dh and I got all his food ready for tomorrow, so I will sleep in. I wish bad weather wasn't on its way tomorrow. I would go down to my sister's house. I don't work, and dh has school and basketball games all afternoon/evening.
  22. @cintinative, I'm so sorry that happened and for the loss of your friend! Praying your ds is okay with no lasting effects. I did some shopping for the party tonight.
