  1. I really like that!!! But sadly, I don’t have a Costco near me. ☹️
  2. My plastic kitchen trash can is gross, so I have to replace it. I would like to get a stainless can, but I am a bit worried about fingerprints and having to clean it all the time. I really wish I had a cabinet or something to put a trashcan in, but I don’t. It has to set out. Any recommendations or suggestions?
  3. I was thinking the same thing (why did he aim at the cinematographer), but I don’t think he was aiming at her…he was likely aiming at the camera. That type of shot is very common in gun movies. Of course, she was next to the camera. I read that there are many safety features to protect the cinematographer, but those safety features would be for blanks, not live ammo (assuming it was live ammo in this situation).
  4. The recent tests we have done (both PCR and rapid) have been where each nostril is just swabbed (swirled around several times) - it does not go up so high. This method is not painful at all. Maybe your testing locations are doing it this way? I would call and ask.
  5. I haven’t yet, but it is on my list and I will watch it soon. But did you know that the daughter in the show is Andie MacDowell’s daughter in real life? I found that to be pretty interesting.
  6. I’m very sorry for your loss. (((hugs)))
  7. I loved the original!! How do I watch the new one? Can I stream it?
  8. This is so interesting to me! I’ve lived in WV for most of my life (I spent 10 years living in Ohio and spent less than a year living in SC) and my family has been in WV for…forever. I definitely agree with you that people in the south do not consider WV to be part of the south. My dh and I moved to SC briefly after we married. I cracked up when people would call us Yankees because we were from WV (factual I suppose, but just had never had that experience before). Overall, I’d say you are correct that WV feels more rural than southern. Regarding fried pies, I never ever heard of them growing up. I honestly don’t think I knew of them until I was an adult, as I regularly drive through KY for work and I often see them in small town gas stations. They are typically by the register or displayed prominently in the store. I have tried them a time or two and they are so good! But I don’t ever hear them talked about (or even see them!) in WV.
  9. I don’t wear dresses often, but I need to purchase a dress for an event in late October. I wear a size 10/12 (more of a 12 these days!) and have a pretty average build. There is no dress code, but I would say the event will be between causal and formal. So a little dressy, but definitely not a cocktail dress, or anything like that. And I would like to keep it under $100, if possible. Thank you for any suggestions!!
  10. Good point about the meat being vacuum sealed. And I made a meal last night knowing no one else would eat it, but I knew it would be good for leftovers.
  11. Yikes! Mine arrived in time and it was all in good shape when delivered. I think it also came fed ex. That is crazy!!
  12. I had a choice of delivery day, so I chose Saturday (it was the closest day when I ordered). I agree with you though and I think I will change the day moving forward.
  13. I think I will try this in the future - two meat meals and one veggie option. Great idea!
  14. I also would have frozen the meatball meal, but dd really really wanted it. I never thought of cooking two meals on one night. That’s an idea..
  15. I received a Hello Fresh delivery this past Saturday (today is Tuesday) and I suddenly remembered why I stopped ordering from them a few years ago. I don’t know how to keep the food fresh. I ordered three different meals - sesame beef tacos, meatball flatbreads, and a chicken sheet pan meal. My food was delivered on Saturday. I made half of the flatbreads on Sunday (only my dd and I wanted them). On Monday everyone was out so I didn’t cook. I’m making the beef tacos tonight and we will be out again tomorrow night. Will the chicken still be safe to cook on Thursday (5 days after delivery)? What about finishing up the meatball flatbreads on Friday (the meatballs are precooked)? This is something I struggle with in regular cooking too. I don’t know how to go to the store once a week and keep all of my food fresh. For some reason, this is one lesson in adulting that I never seemed to learn. I love the hello fresh meals and would like to order every few weeks. Help me to figure out how to do this!!
  16. I don’t cook roasts very often, but I have a 3lb boneless chick roast that I’d like to cook in my instant pot for dinner tonight. Any tried and true recipes you could offer? The plan is to serve it with mashed potatoes and green beans, so I won’t be cooking potatoes and carrots with it. Also wanted to add that I’ve had my instant pot since the craze started several years ago, but I’ve only used it a handful of times. For some reason, it scares me!! Thanks!!
  17. What a wonderful article. Thank you for sharing!
  18. About $5,500 for each kid (dd is in braces now, ds got his off about 2 years ago). This includes retainers and all appointments. We are so lucky that our insurance paid $2,000 toward each kid’s braces. So we only had to pay $3,500 out of pocket for each.
  19. I attend a church with about 1,500 regular attenders. This is exactly the system we use. I have also works at the registration desk, helping to check kids in or sign up new families, for several years. We haven’t lost a kid yet!
