  11. Nah. If it's really important, I'll hear about it here on the boards, right? :p Just kidding ... I'm feeling ornery today. Seriously though, the way you phrased that question ... you're asking for it, lady. ;)
  12. None unless he can spell it. :p I'm just kidding, feeling a little contrary today. Don't stress about it. Trust yourself.
  13. I understand what you're saying, but I don't know if there's an easy solution to this problem. It's not always black-and-white or cut-and-dried, because you have differing perceptions. I automatically thought of a passage I'd recently read in The Story of Science: Newton at the Center. The author's talking about Galilean relativity and uses the example of a sailor on a moving ship who drops a ball from the top of the mast to a sailor on the deck just below. The sailor on deck sees the ball drop straight down. But if you're standing on shore looking at the moving ship and the ball, you don't see the same thing. To your eyes, the ball doesn't fall straight down. Instead, because the ship is moving it looks like the ball falls in an arc. So who sees what really happens? Both do. It's relative. So what may seem like "objective moderating" to some may appear to be something entirely different to others. There is no easy answer or one size fits all list. And you know what? Isn't it ironic? Are we seriously asking for ... more rules and regulation? (Just my woeful attempt at a little humor.)
  14. Oh, moderator, moderator wherefore didst thou remove the tags? I didn't mind, honest! 'twas only meant in good fun, I believe :biggrinjester:

  18. Thank you, but ... what is the fascination?

I've gotten several comments and can't figure out what's so unusual about them.

Seriously? I think it just means I have no self-control when it comes to books!

  21. I got the Dare this past August because I didn't need bluetooth and I'd read reviews at cnet that it was as close to the iPhone as you could get. I would rather have gotten the iPhone but it wasn't available where we were going. I'm still loving my phone, especially because the clarity is excellent and I can hear so much better on it than any of the others I've tried. I love the qwerty touch keyboard for texting, too. I think it depends on what you're going to use the most. I don't use the camera too often ... I like zoom on a camera! I like being able to surf the web if I'm sitting somewhere waiting and can't get engrossed in a book. I agree with Barb F's suggestions. Have fun and good luck!
  22. Ohmygawsh, I am soooo sick of Greenwood's Proud to Be an American. Beautiful song, but it is played at nearly every military function I go to and I'm beginning to detest it. How'd you know that practically every male member on this base drives a truck? lol I should've included She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy as one of the choices. And Trace Adkins' I Got My Game On. Thanks, I tried to find the lyrics for that song and didn't have much luck. So far, here are the songs they've chosen: Lynyrd Skynyrd's Simple Man Toby Keith's Courtesy of the Red White and Blue Tim McGraw's Live Like You Were Dying 3 Doors Down's Citizen Soldier Toby Keith's How Do You Like Me Now? Alan Jackson's Small Town Southern Man Bob Seger's Like a Rock
  23. I'm making two-minute slideshows for eight chiefs and need song suggestions to go with each person's pictures. So far I have Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man," Toby Keith's "How Do You Like Me Now?" and Bob Seger's "Like A Rock." One possibility is Alan Jackson's "Small Town Southern Man." These songs were chosen by the individuals, but some have asked me to choose. One guy asked for a contemporary rock/patriotic song. These are the ones I'm mulling over, but I was hoping to get some more ideas! This is for a military function -- a promotion ceremony, and each slideshow will be 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 minutes long. Their pictures are mostly of him in uniform, either at work or in travels, him with his family, and his formal military pictures. Thanks!!!
