  1. Right it is ok to have fun. I guess it is hard for me because if we were to try and acutally put ourselves (mentally) in the position of being truly poor I think certain things that "you would NEVER eat/use" would be a luxury. I also do believe that all the women here would cast all the "nevers" aside and do what they had to do to take care of their families. BUT I can see that I am most likely overthinking this whole thing so I should stop commenting on this thread. :D
  2. Yes my next step is to buy it. I have to say it is now one of my all time favorites!
  3. If this has been discussed on the boards forgive me. I just have to say I loved, loved, loved this movie! I know I am a dork. :001_smile: Of course Dh didn't find it thrilling but my boys actually liked it as well.
  4. Colleen I am right there with you. :glare: I am not trying to be witchy about it either, really. I guess I just feel like we don't know what we would do about being TRULY truly poor unless we were in that position. I am sure this is supposed to be a lighthearted thread I just can't "get" there.
  5. I feel your pain. My boys alone can eat 2 large pizzas and still be hungry. What am I in for??? :001_huh:
  6. Can you imagine if everyone "did what they needed to do to make their turn?" It would be a free-for-all. I have had many times where I didn't get over or went the wrong way and just had to go to the next road and turn around. It's legal and you don't get ticketed. With that many police officers cracking down it seems to me that they must be having a major problem with it and that is why they are cracking down.
  7. I am sure you are going to laugh but Cindy Crawfords workout really really worked for me. (I have not done it in years but I lost 35 lbs in 2 months when I faithfullly did it) If you have boys you may not want them to be around tho.........Cindy Crawford ..............exercising in a bathing suit.......... nuff said.
  8. I think you would surprise yourself over what you would do or use if you hit rock bottom. Even if I hit rock bottom I would never do anything illegal, anything that would hurt my marriage or my children, and I would never do anything that goes against my beliefs.
  9. FYI Sometimes it says explicit next to a song and it doesn't necessarily mean that song is explicit, it may just mean that one of the other songs on the album is explicit. Hope that made sense.
  10. First nothing justifies someones behavior like that. You can't just go around willy nilly sinning on purpose because you are a believer in Jesus Christ and think you're "covered" so who cares, might as well live it up. It doesn't work that way. It is a matter of the heart. I think that someone that sins and truly repents is not not going to toss in "well I am a sinner so, cut me some slack." Nope not how it works. A true believer (should)repent and be ready to face their consequences. AS far as someone high profile that has a huge media blaring sin come to light, for example a pastor who gets caught in a gay affair, (just tossing out a scenario here that was in the media recently) in that situation as a christian it makes me CRINGE because right there it made all non-believers just roll there eyes and go "and he says he's a CHRISTIAN??" or "here we go with those christians again" and believe me I understand. Right there would be an example of a christian giving Christianity a bad name. Sin is a sin is a sin. It is just all sins have different consequences. High profile people, when their sins come under scrutiny have a huge fall out and therefore the consequences are much bigger, becuase they had set themselves up to be a good example and then when they fell they not just showing a bad example of who a christian is or should be but they also bring negative scrutiny (can't think of a better word right now) to the whole of Christianity and therefore all believers. BUT, again we go back to grace. Grace does indeed cover it all. Grace is defined as the "free and unmerited favor of God".
  11. Yes and I should have added in my other post that I sin everyday multiple times a day. I don 't always act Christ-like. There may be times where people see how I act or how I talk and say "AND shes calls herself a CHRISTIAN??" Yes, I do, and I continuely fall down and I am still a christian. I know that there are christians out there that give other christians a "bad name". Think of all the scandals with high profile christians. Just because they made a huge mistake that made the scandal doesn't make them any less a christian. They are a sinner just like the rest of us.
  12. God gave us free will. Only Jesus Christ is perfect. Man is not. That is why some act in this manner. We are all born sinners. We sin and will continue to do so. The difference is we're forgiven. That is where Grace comes in. Just some random thoughts to this.
  13. For me it's when I go to my sil and see how neat and tidy everything is. I also love how she decorates, and fortunatley she is a Targetholic. I always come home from visiting her house and feel inspired to organize and hit Target.
  14. Of course it could be that you need more sleep but I would ask your Dr. to have the lab run a TSH, just to check your thyroid. It's better to find out right away then let it get away from you. :001_smile:
  15. I'm sorry, that is a frustrating cr*ppy way to start the day! You're right too, I am sure they will never be caught. :glare:
  16. I can't help but think there is a lot more to this story.
  17. So are we! We are also north of you in South Bend. Was it far from Indy?
  18. We are considering going there. Has anyone gone there and if so did you like it or not?
  19. I used to feel this way too until I realized my boys are going to have to look at the way these women dress. :o
  20. Well I am in the same boat as you. Actually I am worse. I don't get it at all. I can't even hold a conversation about it because I don't get it. I can't wrap my brain around economics in general.
