  1. Yep. I'm a pretty liberal democrat, but more money isn't the answer.
  2. She's not. Her solution to everything is more money. She is about as opposite to E.D. Hirsch as you can get.
  3. This looks interesting. Do you put the litter directly inside it, or is there another box inside?
  4. I'd vote for you. If you don't get the job, I'd like to see it go to E.D. Hirsch or Diane Ravitch. But I think Linda Darling Hammond will get it. :scared::thumbdown: Actually, if you have something to say, here is your chance.
  5. I agree with Stacy. Many of these are things you would typically see in a dyslexic. On the other hand, they could be normal. I wouldn't advise her to do any testing, though. Instead, I'd recommend she use ABeCeDarian with BRI and the notched card, and join the Yahoo groups for each. BRI ABeCeDarian If his issues are developmental and normal, he'll soon learn to read well with this approach. If he's dyslexic, he'll still learn to read with this approach, it just might take a little longer.
  6. I do use yellow. It's not bad, but I've heard good things about salmon and want to try it. Unfortunately, this brand is really expensive. I was hoping to find a trial size or some other brand before forking over that much money.
  7. I could use some of that, too. And cat box concealer, and guinea pig concealer, and smelly shoe concealer....
  8. Someone here recommended salmon concealer for dark circles, but now I can't find the thread. What brand do you use? I found Eve Pearl but it looks like you can only get it online. I want some TODAY! Thanks.

  10. I think you live in Indiana, correct? If so, I believe Indiana does a routine screening for MSUD at birth, so he was probably already tested. You would have been told if it was abnormal. I'd still mention it to your doctor, though.
  11. I haven't read anything else by Ken Follett, but I enjoyed his Pillars of the Earth and World Without End.
  12. Some of the things we've used: ABeCeDarian Megawords Sequential Spelling Apples and Pears Rod and Staff Grammar (not secular, but it was the best grammar program I could find, so we modified it) We tried lots of different writing programs and didn't like any of them, until we caved and bought IEW. It's not secular but I didn't have any problems with it. It was hands down the best writing program, for us. We are now using K12 for 6th and 8th grade. I am very happy with their Language Arts program. I don't know anything about K12 for younger grades though.
  13. I pull the front grill off and vacuum under it every couple weeks. I'd like to pull it out, but don't know how to do that without damaging the wood floor.
  14. I just looked at it. It's Christian, so I wouldn't be interested.
  15. I've never heard of these, but I'm interested. I'll look at the website when I have more time. Your link, though, goes to the wrong place. I think you meant to link to National Association of University Model Schools instead of National Association of United Methodist Scouters
  16. Here's a review of BTL. Our district used Investigations. It's one of the main reasons I started homeschooling.
  17. I took about 20 Rubbermaid boxes of books to Half Price books over the past few months. I think I made around $100.
  18. No. They asked my name, then I signed the ledger. They didn't check the signature. (Iowa)
  19. There was no line. I have never had to wait in line while I've lived in Iowa. The only time I've ever waited was when I lived in Wisconsin, and voted in the primaries in 1991 or '92, when we had to wait for about 2 hours.
  20. What are some options for selling curriculum, besides this site and ebay? I have a friend who wants to sell some things. Thanks.
