  1. Frasier, Friends, and Reba are some of my favorites for US shows. For Britcoms, I love (#1 fave show of ALL time!!!!) May to December. Paul Venables as Jamie kills me!! (I also quite enjoy Waiting for God, Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister, One Foot in the Grave, etc.) Oh my gosh! I forgot 'Allo 'Allo!! (We have one line we endlessly quote from that around here but I won't post it as it could be offensive...)
  2. Thank you. :grouphug: How are you doing? I think about you every day. I am still pregnant. I had no spotting yesterday or so far today. I am also having some wicked nausea, so that must be good, right?
  3. Praying for you! :grouphug: Thank you all. :grouphug:
  4. All of our school districts are on different spring breaks. It is actually a little annoying because from half way through March to half way through April, some different district is on break. (Why should it annoy me? Because it gets in the way of our outings! ) We live in a school district squished between two other school districts but all close and on top of each other, if that makes sense. And while they are all in the neighborhood of Easter, I wouldn't say they are planned around Easter any more than both occur in the spring. :tongue_smilie:
  5. I had HG *only* with my 5th baby. Phenergan didn't do much for me, but Zofran was a God send. I lost a LOT of weight in the first 18 weeks, even on Zofran. (I think I lost about 20 lbs. It was horrible. I lived on lemon drops and hot tea. Everything else came right up. Showering, brushing my teeth, almost anything would make me sick.) I am so very sorry you are suffering with this. It is horrific and depressing and I found no one understood. I would hear, "Oh, I had morning sickness when I was pg, too." Uh, no. This isn't morning sickness. *I* had morning sickness with my 4 previous pregnancies. Number 5 was just a nightmare and having everyone act like they knew how I felt and "advise" me made me want to punch folks.... "You just need to eat XYZ." "Just exercise every day. It'll clear right up." "Oh, with my morning sickness, I drank Tang and felt better immediately." Grrrrrr..... :grouphug: (I think I am still hostile and it is 7+ years later! :001_huh: )
  6. My ds18 sees any list as a "suggestion," like a PP mentioned. :glare: It drives me BATTY!!!!!!
  7. :grouphug: Still keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug: I hope you are recovering physically, even if the emotional recovery is s l o w. :(
  8. for prayers, positive thoughts, good vibes, whatever for this pregnancy? I am 6 weeks tomorrow (by LMP) or Monday (by ovulation.) I have had a total of 6 miscarriages in my life, 4 of which were when I turned 6 weeks. Three of those losses at 6 weeks have been in the last year since we started TTC. :( I am a total nervous wreck about this whole weekend. :( Anyway, thank you. :grouphug:
  9. I think you did the right thing. I am just curious as all get out if the person came back and claimed their cash. :lurk5: I remember my folks finding a wad of cash years ago when I was growing up. We were living in an apartment building in Germany at the time. They posted a notice in the stairwell that they had found some cash and it was turned in to the MPs. Thirty days later, no one claimed it and the MPs gave it to my parents. :D
  10. We play it by ear, my ear. ;) If I can see they are antsy and they ask for a break, I let them. If they are stalling/procrastinating, I give them a concrete goal (something minimal) they have to complete before allowing the break. Most of mine, most of the time, don't want breaks. They want to GET DONE!! :D
  11. :crying: I am so very sorry. :grouphug: I'm glad it is over and your dh is with you. <sigh> Unbelievably crappy, this whole lousy situation - AGAIN. (I am so angry over this. I felt SO angry with my 4th loss in a row. I was shocked at how sometimes the anger outweighed the pain, even. And I am just p*ssed that you are going through this. ) :grouphug:
  12. The waiting room?! They couldn't let you sit in an exam room? I am so so so sorry. This is just heartbreaking. :grouphug:
  13. Again, ITA. Also, I am not at all opposed to having people who are so bored that they are picking fights with one another do chores in opposite areas, either. ;)
  14. :iagree: Yup. That's how we roll. Disputes tend to end quickly around these parts... :tongue_smilie:
  15. Oh Nance. :( I am so extremely sad for you. This is horrible, just horrible. With my last loss, I had extremely light spotting (brown) on Thursday and Friday. Then Saturday wasn't really anything. Then Sunday there was more and more frequently and then it stopped. When I woke up on Monday, there was a small "pool" of spotting when I wiped. I went in for an u/s that morning. No heart beat. Then Tuesday has some extremely light spotting, some pink, some brown. On Wednesday morning, there was light bleeding like the start of AF and by that afternoon, I started actual contractions, then clots. It took about 4 hours of heavy bleeding, clots, and then the sac and baby and placenta. From the first spotting to the actual miscarriage took a week. It was horrid and awful and miserable. :( You are constantly in my thoughts, on my mind, on my heart, in my prayers... :grouphug:
  16. I wondered about that, too, but I am totally ignorant about such things and thus wouldn't ask. I'm glad you did. :grouphug:
  17. I've not personally seen any signs like those, but the first one you posted looks like it is local... :tongue_smilie: I am in the PNW, for reference. ;)
  18. Wow, that is a lot of stuff going on. I'm not Mormon but that doesn't sound like any Mormons I have ever met. (Obviously! The Mormon moms have said as much! :tongue_smilie: ) The child sounds like she has a lot of issues going on. While I totally love and appreciate the idea of making a difference in their lives, it sounds like a monumental task that could come at the expense of other dc in the co op. This little girl sounds like she would benefit from having an "aid." Whether that is her mother, an older teen who isn't taking a class at the co op, or another parent who volunteers for the duty, I think having a person dedicated to helping her cope and learn how to "be" in a classroom will make life better for all involved. It sounds like a situation the leader needs to be apprised of and then a conference held to determine what is best for everyone. In terms of the not smiling, that makes me sad. Our family was friends with a family who are part of a very small Catholic sect (cult??) who put tighter and tighter restrictions on their members with every passing year. This family used to laugh and smile and just be fun to be around. Now they aren't allowed to have anything to do with anyone outside of their "religion." We all use the same dentist and when my dc see those dc, we all get very sad. Their faces are downcast, sad eyes, no smilies, and they aren't allowed to give or return greetings. :(
  19. How ironic that you posted that, lol! I was up most of the night convinced I didn't do enough to prepare her and she will fail and it will be all my fault... :tongue_smilie: She texted after her first class and called after her second. She seems happy and sounds excited and said she is having fun!!!! :D I get to pick her up in 45 minutes!!!!!! Woo-hoo!!!!!!!!
  20. I sent dd16 off this morning for her first day of B&M school, college. I took her picture, gave her a hug and kiss, and waited until dh pulled away before I started crying. I can't wait to go and pick her up and hear all about how it went!
  21. Dh collected baseball cards for years. Ebay and the like as well as the sheer volume of cards on the market for the last 2 decades have made most cards almost devoid of any value.
  22. Thank you. :) Dd isn't here today or I would have asked her, lol. She knows all of this inside out and backwards but had a meltdown over missing classes for the PSAT. So I thought I'd ask. I'm still not sure the PSAT is necessary. But the SAT is, so she will do that. :D (And that is on Saturday mornings, so no meltdown!! Woo-hoo!)
  23. I didn't know that was an option! Thanks! I'll look into it. I assumed (and you know what they say about assuming!) that it was all on the same morning everywhere. I will check with the two school districts which border our district. :)
