  1. Thanks for the ideas. The Yogibo and Love Sac are too expensive. I am wanting 4-6 of them. The Big Joe we've had before, but it lost it's shape within 2 weeks. I think I might just get some cushions.
  2. Be aware that medicaid does not have an assisted living facilities, but they do have nursing homes. The quality of the nursing home will be very poor compared to a well run assisted living. If they are being able to afford independent living, does the facility offer additional services they can use. Here, assisted living is $5000 a month. This includes all meals, an apartment, transportation, all utilities, help with administering medications, reminders to shower and reminders to walk down to the dining room for meals.
  3. Thanks all! I have a lot of products to take a look at.
  4. It could be. I've not found one that I like though.
  5. We have a gaggle of teens that come over several times a week. I am looking for bean bags or large cushions to toss on the floor for extra places to sit. Any suggestions?
  6. Anyone have a suggestion for mineral make up for middle aged skin? I've tried a couple (Bare Minerals, too orange. Alima, lasted less than 2 hours). Anything that you love that I should give a try?
  7. At least 2 years and most likely 3. So, age 14-15 to be functioning at a 7th grade level.
  8. I have 2 gallons of milk, 4 types of cheese, apples, pears, avocados, lettuce, spinach, various berries, bacon, ham, bread, 3 carton of eggs. 2 cartons of OJ, 1 grape juice, 1 apple juice. Family of 6= lots of food. Cooking from scratch = lots of ingredients.
  9. Yes, but people in other countries are within 2-5 minutes of a market and go by one daily. In my part of the world, the grocery store is often 20-40 minutes away.
  10. Yes. We load and start the dishwasher right after dinner, all food is put away. When the dishwasher finishes, I unload and re-load and start it again. I make sure all the counters are wiped and I put up all the kitchen chairs so the Roomba can run over night.
  11. For the OP, as far as I know, nothing like that exists. Most countries have very strict immigration policies. I never understood why U.S. citizens are so angry about the U.S. immigration laws when most countries have similar or even more strict immigration policies.
  12. Cold discrimination?? I have heard it all.
  13. I have never felt more terrible in my life than when I did a few months of low carb. After several trips to the doctor and have bloodwork and various tests done, we figured out is was my change in diet. Switched back to my normal diet and felt better within 24 hours. I was seriously sick, had no energy, horrible headaches, joint pain, nauseated all the time. It was a mess. Adding this in here to say that not all people can do low carb.,
  14. The last 3 washing machines we've had (the last 18 years) have all had a sensor that adjusts for load size. Prior to that, we could choose from 5 different load sizes, so wasting water was never an issue. It costs somewhere between 11 and 20 cents in electricity to run a load, so running a few extra smaller loads costs very little.
  15. After a meal, they are allowed to consume all the fruits and veggies they want. I expect them to fill themselves up enough at a meal where they are not usually hungry afterwards.
  16. If your realtor says you must do something with the kitchen, I'd seriously consider IKEAhttp://www.thekitchn.com/faiths-kitchen-renovation-the-trials-and-joys-of-buying-an-ikea-kitchen-renovation-diary-faiths-budg-184072 Bead board is in style right now, and covers a lot of bad wall. It is quick and easy to put up. Bead board the entire kitchen, order new kitchen from IKEA, install. I would call around and get several estimates on putting in and staining the front porch. I'd have the entire interior painted and hold off on the windows if there is no damage.
  17. I would do : Exterior Windows and Doors Front Porch Flooring upstairs Gut Kitchen, Flooring Downstairs Here something like that would run roughly $70,000 unless you do 100% of the work yourself. ETA: Just saw the part about prepping for sale. There is no way to recoup $$ with this much damage, IMO, unless you purchased the house way undervalue, flipped it in 6 weeks.
  18. I'd keep the tile but get rid of the brass fixtures. Brass is very dated. Scrub the grout. Paint the walls a soft blue or gray. If possible, you could paint the cabinets a deep color.
  19. You can learn to shoot a gun at 43 just as well as you can learn to do anything else at 43. Ride a motorcycle, ride a horse, learn an instrument. It all comes down to practice.
  20. A complete set of clothes for each day plus one extra. I am not a fan of re-wearing clothes, especially for teen boys.
