  1. Bible Gateway does haven many translations that can be read or listened to on their website. My vote would be King James or NIV.
  2. I have a Martin Luther book I plan to start on Monday, after that there are sections of the OT that I want to go back through more slowly.
  3. OK Slache did you finish? :toetap05:
  4. I am looking for some artists that sing traditional hymns, there are lots of hymns on youtube with churches singing and an organ playing. I would rather have something different than that. I am protestant if that matters...I have really enjoyed Collin Raye's Gospel CD His Love Remains and I know that he is Catholic.
  5. The only place I have used Mathmatica was in 1 class in college years ago. Matlab has been what is used by several of my previous employers.
  6. I've been out of school for many years and I majored in engineering. We used either MLA or APA in classes like literature or history. In classes like Chem, Physics, or any of the other classes with labs we did lab reports and didn't use MLA or APA, just what ever the lab instructor wanted. Mostly we weren't citing sources, we were discussing test procedures and results from the labs. I did do a senior research project and probably used MLA in that class. I had a paperback copy of a book that had lots of examples of either MLA or APA that was a great reference for the classes that I needed it for. I had a basic understanding of citing references from high school and the examples were all I really needed for college. Hope that helps some. Edited to fix spelling.
  7. Wet brush, dd just got one and has curly hair which is always tangled, this helps a lot.
  8. My dd is 5 and watches no tv but does get to see movies every few weeks. She watched the Wizard of Oz at 4. The wicked witch scared her a little but no more so than bad guys in other disney movies. She didn't have nightmares from it at all.
  9. I have 1 5 yo and a dh who gets up super early to be to work. I usually had a fair amount of time to read in the mornings.
  10. The app is on my phone and the 17th is 90 days.
  11. Be up front with your parents about not being able to afford it and help them get it ready to sell. As far as the RV...don't do it because you think it will be a good financial decision it won't. However if the idea of living on the road with an RV is something you would really like to do that wouldn't be nearly as bad as doing it for financial reasons. We looked at campers for living in while dh works and staying in nicer campgrounds. It really isn't cheap and there is a lot of maintenance that goes along with it and they are not well made in general. Air conditioning has a hard time keeping up when it is really hot and heat can't keep up when it is really cold. They do not hold up well with people living in them. I wish you well in whatever decisions you make.
  12. I found another good result of this 90 day challenge. Yesterday and today I have spent time reading the bible. I am in the habit of reading it and so it seem much easier to sit down and do it. Keep reading along and don't give up!
  13. I finished this morning and then drove for 11 hours to a hotel. I am so glad that I have done this and have learned a ton and thank you all for helping us all to be accountable. I will check in some while on vacation to encourage.
  14. The new testament goes quickly. I am reading in Revelations now, I don't know if I will finish today or tomorrow. I am starting a day and a half drive with just me and dd this morning. It is still early and if I can get off the internet and read I will make progress.
  15. Polo... I have finished Hebrews and still have part of James to read today. I leave on Thursday for my vacation and am schedule to finish on Friday. I am driving Thursday and Friday so am hoping I will have time in the hotel to read Friday morning.
  16. Aleve...I used advil for years and had to take several at a time. A doc prescribed a much higher dose of Aleve and I was able to cut back. I can take one or sometimes at the most 2 at a time. Take them as soon as you notice any cramps and take them religiously until cramps are done. I take my last dose about 24 hours after my first.
  17. Rain, rain go away...ha not until Tuesday...no moon for us.
  18. I don't think I have done a 5000 piece puzzle but have done several 1000 or larger puzzles. Dd5 can do 100 piece puzzles by herself although she would rather have help and has helped on 200 and 300 piece puzzles. We don't have a TV and I make sure there are plenty of puzzles around to work on.
  19. I finished Galatians this morning.
  20. I have a Martin Luther book that I have attempted a couple of times and will more seriously go back and read. After that I would like to more slowly go through the OT with something other than KJV and a commentary.
  21. How much music do you already know? Dd and I are both taking lessons, I can't tell by sound when my fingers aren't in the right position. I just don't have the ear for it although from what I have been told over time I can still develop it. I have tape where the notes are, but can't always look there as I have to look at the music especially until I have a song memorized. There are a couple of training aids that are really useful, a bow buddy and a bow right that have really helped both of us. You might consider getting a few lessons to get you started on the correct way to hold both the violin and the bow. I would also expect that it would depend on how much you want to learn. Our teacher's kids go through lessons with top violinists up until they go to college. I could not do it by myself, but I don't have a strong background in music and I had never played a string instrument. Maybe some others will chime in as well.
  22. dd watched it at 3 or 4 and we don't watch many movies or tv. I didn't have a problem with it.
