  1. Thanks to all of you for posting and for your prompt replies. This is what I was thinking but I wanted confirmation from this board. I know that when they have a lot of credits from courses at home it can be questionable. Additionally, I found out that some of the courses she took in 8th grade (maybe 3 of them). I suggested that if she didn't need the credit why include it. It is different to have 40+ credits over 4 years as to over 5.
  2. Okay, I figured I consult the hive for my friend. Please advise. Her dd is truly gifted and motivated. She is a junior and has like 40 credits. These are not just at home credits. These are University of South Florida, Florida Virtual, PA Homeschoolers, Potters School and at home. There are honors and AP. Additionally, she has excelled in extracurricular activities. Her transcript will be substantiated by her nearly perfect SAT score, PSAT, AP's with 5, SAT 2 subjects tests that are exceptional. What should she do on the transcript? I've read that sometimes too many credits is unbelievable. Part of the reason she has so many, is that she would do FLVS course in 2 months and move on to the next. She would also do summer classes. Please advise. Thanks.
  3. I came across this through a Homeschoolbuyerscoop offer that is currently available. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the program and had any words of wisdom to share.
  4. There is a homeschoolbuyerscoop group sale for this. It is expensive but looks like a great program. Any information to share? Thanks
  5. It's hard to believe that you are almost done. My oldest will be my first to graduate this year. I still have your homeschool schedule and many other posts that I printed out many years ago. I would go to your blog and show my boys pictures of your home, cats, the snow, etc. We live in Miami, FL, where homes have very little land and it never snows. Now you can understand why we enjoyed the pictures. You have been such a source of inspiration and wisdom throughout my homeschooling journey. Thank you for continuing to encourage us. Congratulations! Blessings.
  6. Any suggestions, reviews, what to look for? My main use will be for convection cooking --to have a second oven. We do not use the microwave. We have an over the range microwave that broke many years ago. We would like to replace it. There are so many. I have read so many different reviews. They range so widely in price. Thanks for your input. It will be greatly appreciated.
  7. what is the best recipe for sandwich bread? Any books you recommend? What flour(s) do you use?
  8. Beatlemania, Congratulations to you!! Congratulations to all who have posted acceptances!!
  9. I know that the combined volume 6th ed. is the textbook that is used in one of the sections of AP European History for PA Homeschoolers. However, you would need to do more than just using the textbook.
  10. The SAT II Lit is scored like the SAT --penalized .25 for wrong answers. What to do if student runs out of time -- with 2 or 3 questions to go? At a previous SAT Math workshop, the tutor said that it was worth to take an guess. There is taking an educated guess when you have read a question and are unsure or don't have much time to ponder but should you just bubble an answer in even if you have not read the question?
  11. It may be that there is no idealistically perfect place. However, your daughter is not the first person I know that has wanted to transfer out of the school she attends. We live in Florida. I know someone whose daughter was looking forward to going there. She ended up transferring. She really didn't like it. Not at all what she envisioned. I don't know if she transferred after her freshman or sophomore year. I think it was after her freshman year.
  12. Thank you all for your responses. I took your advice and called the college. Although it had not been received, I have been reassured that it will be postmarked on time.
