  1. The one that Paul Maudale does is the Tomatis. This is different from The Listening Program. My ds who has auditory processing issues did The LIstening Program twice at different ages-years apart- and I saw no difference. We just had the training with the Tomatis and I'm already seeing differences. I did this through www.annashousellc.com.
  2. I have The Listening Program on cds that I am willing to sell. I sent you a pm.
  3. I'm so sorry for you loss. Praying for you and your family.:grouphug:
  4. This was the issue for the son of the author of Fighting for Tony. This was published in 1987. Since then many others have written about the gluten casein diet and its effects on autistic children. http://www.amazon.com/Fighting-Tony-Mary-Callahan/dp/0671632655/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351643934&sr=8-1&keywords=fighting+for+tony I'm glad you were able to tell the difference. Hope your child continues to improve.
  5. The key to Anna's method is that she doesn't do both therapies at same time. She starts with the neuro-developmental therapy and then she knows when the child is ready to do the Listening Fitness training.
  6. Take a look at www.annashousellc.com. My son has done the Listening program twice, vision therapy, and other neurodevelopmental therapies. None of them are like what Anna Buck does. She wrote a book called Miracle Children. She did this with her own child. I have interacted with her daughter and I can't believe it is the same child described in said book. The book When Listening Comes Alive is written by the cofounder of the Listening Centre in Toronto who was a patient of Dr. Tomatis and cofounded the centre with him. http://www.amazon.com/When-Listening-Comes-Alive-Communication/dp/0969707916/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351383623&sr=8-1&keywords=when+listening+comes+alive "In 2005 Anna was certified as a Neuro-Developmental Delay Therapist by The Institute for Neuro-Physiological Psychology (INPP) in Chester, U.K. Anna was a guest speaker at an INPP conference in December, 2006, where she shared her own copyrighted exercisetechnique for Neuro-Developmental Delay Therapy. She shared more about her work at the INPP International Conference in 2010. As a certified Listening Fitness Instructor for The Listening Centre, Toronto, Canada, Anna was a guest speaker at the annual conference in 2006. She is the first person to integrate INPP’s Neuro-Developmental Delay Therapy with the Listening Fitness Program. This has proven to be quite successful with children who have experienced both programs." In June, 2009 Anna visited the Movement and Learning Centre, Scotland where she received training in Bilateral Integration.
  7. Here is the link to the Kahlua Chocolate Chunk cookie recipe I mentioned in my previous post. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/rachael-ray/kahlua-chocolate-chunk-cookies-recipe/index.html I have also made the following recipe by Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa) as a bar. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/chocolate-white-chocolate-chunk-cookies-recipe4/index.html For both, I spread as a bar in 13x9 glass pan and baked at 350 for 25 mins. I shipped to my son in college and all his friends loved them.
  8. At the food network there is a recipe from Rachel Ray fo Khalua cookies (They are chocolate chip). Mix recipe as instructed but bake as a bar in 13x9 glass pan at 350 for 25mmin. I do this with different cookie recipes and theyall come out great.
  9. Stress triggers histamine which makes them itchy.
  10. Congratulations!:hurray: Rejoicing with you.
  11. I'm joining you. Just said by to my son for 3 months and we live 18 hours away.
  12. I can't believe she'll be a senior. It seems like it was just the other day. Thanks for all the application materials you so kindly shared with us.
  13. We leave on Saturday. I'm in denial. We drive 9 hours-spend the night-drive another 9 hours check in to hotel Sunday night. All day Monday to ourselves. Move in Tuesday. Say goodbye Wed evening. I can't believe that a week from now I will be leaving him. I'm truly excited for him. However, this is so hard. Not only will I miss him but it hurts me to know how much my other son will miss him. It's just the two of them. It's not just a son going away--it's a best friend. :crying: Thanks for all the great advice on things to leave him, lists of things to get, care packages, etc. Thanks for the encouragement.
  14. Preparing first ds to go away to college. Any recommendations.
  15. If she hasn't legally changed her name on her driver's license, passport, or social, you can and should use her maiden name.
  16. The original way that my grandmother used to cook would be that they saute the garlic and onions in the olive oil and then add that to the beans in water and other spices. Forget that, no time for that. Just add everything to the beans at once. Put the beans in water and add the olive oil and all spices, peppers, etc., and cook. They used cooking wine, some add a bit of vinegar and sugar. This all makes it more flavorful but the sugar makes it less healthy. I don't use any of these. Sometimes I add a little vinegar depending on my mood. I'll try to post some kind of recipe later.
  17. Actually, referring back to my post. It depends on which beans you cook what you add. If you made black beans and white rice. The black beans would include olive oil, spices, green pepper, bay leaf, -- no tomato sauce. Some add cilantro. The red kidney beans are cooked with basic staples and chorizo or ham--some add potatoes, some add pumpkin.
  18. Actually, yes. Spanish cuisine, as in from Spain, is more like Italian cooking. You use spices such as garlic, onions, oregano, cumin; green or red bell peppers (not hot peppers of any kind); olive oil and tomato sauce. These are your basic staples. It does not involve any kind of hot sauce or hot peppers. It is not hot or spicy but rather flavorful.
  19. Thanks for this thread. I didn't even think about the containers to take things in. I have the "list" from Gwen's post years ago. This is not an easy thing to do. Mine will be 1100 miles away from home.
  20. Congratulations!:hurray: Rejoicing with you!
